GUN VIOLENCE IN AMERICA: FOR WHO THE BELL TOLLS NEXT.

Just five people shy of Sandy Hook elementary school mass shooting incident that claimed 26 lives, the Uvalde Texas Robb elementary school mass shooting at 21 victims, now ranks among the highest grossing gun carnage in America. It is sad that such frequent blood spilling has tragically become part of our culture as a society. May the souls of the killed now rest.

25th AMENDMENT: ITS NOW ALL CRICKET.

Madam Speaker Nancy Pelosi once questioned former President Donald John Trump's fitness to remain in office due to what she claimed was his declining mental capacity. Does anyone know what Madam Speaker presently thinks about the incontrovertible case which America is now saddled with? Just curious!

TRUMP'S SUPPORTERS ARE BASKET OF DEPLORABLE - HILLARY CLINTON?

Icheoku says if not robotically falling in line behind the anointed Queen of the plantation, not questioning her many lies and stonewalling, including her unreleased Wall Street speeches as well as the 33,000 bleach-washed deleted emails etc, makes one a deplorable, that is a title Icheoku would gladly accept any day, rather than support Crooked Hillary Clinton's bid for the presidency with what is known about her.

Icheoku says this is not the first time Crooked Hillary is losing her cool and calling people names:- she once called African American males 'Super Predators' and encouraged her husband President Bill Clinton to sign into law the Crime Reform Bill which saw a large portion of African Americans locked away to rot in prisons and in their millions. She also once said to Barack Obama, "Shame on you Barack Obama" and now this latest off the handle loss of cool, branding millions of Americans a Basket of deplorables.

In her own words, Crooked Hillary Clinton said:- "I know there are only 60 days left to make our case — and don't get complacent, don't see the latest outrageous, offensive, inappropriate comment and think well he's done this time. We are living in a volatile political environment. You know, to just be grossly generalistic, you could put half of Trump's supporters into what I call the basket of deplorables. Right? The racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamophobic — you name it. And unfortunately there are people like that. And he has lifted them up. He has given voice to their websites that used to only have 11,000 people, now have 11 million. He tweets and retweets offensive, hateful, mean-spirited rhetoric. Now some of those folks, they are irredeemable, but thankfully they are not America."

"But the other basket, the other basket, and I know because I see friends from all over America here. I see friends from Florida and Georgia and South Carolina and Texas, as well as you know New York and California. But that other basket of people who are people who feel that government has let them down, nobody cares about them, nobody worries about what happens to their lives and their futures, and they are just desperate for change. It doesn't really even matter where it comes from. They don't buy everything he says but he seems to hold out some hope that their lives will be different. They won't wake up and see their jobs disappear, lose a kid to heroine, feel like they're in a dead-end. Those are people we have to understand and empathize with as well."

Icheoku responds to Hillary Clinton as follows:- Hillary Clinton herself is a homophobe who once would not support same sex marriage as she declared in an interview with Christ Matthews. Hillary Clinton herself is a racist who called African Americans 'Super Predators' which Bernie Sanders confirmed is a racist statement. Hillary Clinton is also a sexist of the worse kind as her wild-eyed brand of feminism is totally anti the male specie and anyone in doubt should look at how she has totally and completely emasculated her husband Bill Clinton and every other man in her space. So what are we actually talking about here or is it simply a case of the kettle calling the pot black. One thing the Clintons are not in short supply of is their rush to brand others what they are. Just a few days ago, Bill Clinton re-baptized "Make America Great Again" a racist  speak, except that several instances abound where himself used that sloganeering during both his and his wife's campaigns.

Icheoku says imagine Hillary Clinton complaining about someone making inappropriate, offensive and outrageous comment and you ask yourself what is more offensive than calling millions of Americans deplorables and Super Predators? Icheoku laments that were this a gaffe, an apology would suffice to wipe it off the slate of Crooked Hillary Clinton. But no, it was an agreed upon line of statement and written down on her teleprompter and she also repeatedly rehearsed it before making it public. Her audience were also observed cheering and clapping that millions of us supporting Donald Trump were named basket of deplorables. It also did not also matter to either Hillary Clinton or her select audience that we are not in jail or prison nor committed any offense of disrepute either; but are dutiful Americans doing our jobs, obeying the law and paying out taxes; yet to Hillary Clinton, we are a basket of deplorable and her audience agrees with her. Our only offense is simply that we have refused to buy into her candidacy.

All that needs to be said have been said, but this very particular comment now puts Hillary Clinton into the same square-box as Barack Obama with his 2008 "Clinging to their guns and religion"  comment; as well as Mitt Romney's 47 percent comment. Hillary Clinton is surprised and scared stiff that once again she is going to be denied and not coronated this year with the presidency of America. Now she is fighting dirty, resorting to general insult and name calling; and abusing the same people whose votes she is desperately seeking and people who would ordinarily constitute the people she would be their president in the event that accident happens. To say that in this one half of Hillary Clinton's basket of deplorable could be found lawyers, doctors, engineers, businessmen and women, workers of all trades, drivers, bankers, techies, policemen, fire service people, teachers etc is immaterial to Hillary Clinton.

As far as Crooked Hillary Clinton is  concerned, if you are not supporting her, you are not elitist enough nor good enough, hence must be a deplorable and fit only for the basket of deplorables. What a bunch of deplorables that dare to support the other guy and not me appears to be her stance. Anyway, November 8 is but less than sixty short days away and we basket of deplorables shall remember who it was that so dismissively and so derisively branded us all basket of deplorables.  Icheoku says if Crooked Hillary Clinton must know, each and everyone of us supporting Donald Trump, irrespective of the basket in which she has grouped us, share the same common frustrations. Together, we are also determinedly gunning for a change we can believe in and we also hold the supreme belief that only Donald Trump holds out the best possible hope for attaining that desired change and with it an improved life situation.

BASKET OF DEPLORABLES:- ICHEOKU PROUDLY DEPLORABLE.

BILL CLINTON ADMITS HE IS A RACIST: MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN?

Icheoku says aging is not necessarily good especially when it makes mockery of one's former vibrant articulation and self. The man from Hope Arkansas suddenly forgot that he once used the same slogan which he now accuses another who is using it of blowing the dog whistle of racism? Icheoku says it is either the former president is indeed confirming what many have long since concluded that he is a racist white Southerner himself or he is afflicted with early stages of dementia and Alzheimer's  disease.

For a man who severally used that same exact slogan during his own campaign for president in the early nineties and also during a paid television slot for his wife's earlier presidential campaign in 2008, to now bold-facedly accuse Donald Trump of being a racist simply for using same slogan, is indeed telling on the veracity and candor of Bill Clinton. This by necessarily implication confirms that the lying glue holding the two Clintons together in their life of lies and marriage of convenience. Icheoku wonders how those two people co-habitate under the same roof only to remember that they live a life of lie and are always gaming each other; seeing one another as only a necessary tool and means of getting from point A to B.

Icheoku says there is nothing racist in an expressed desire to improve what is or make things better. This is the sole message encapsulated in 'Make America Great Again' and nothing more; otherwise so many people including Icheoku will not be possessed by the Trump mania. Icheoku says a campaign slogan never captivated the American people before as this particular Donald Trump's 'Make America Great Again and the people are agreed that America will be made great again. The Clintons are out of their mind in trying to re-baptize the slogan into what they would rather it becomes at this particular time. It is akin to when everything else fails, pile up the mud hoping that the people will not remember what is and then see the fellow in front of them as too dirty and so muddied up to be president. But this their worn out tactic will not work, not this time as Americans are in unison that change is needed in Washington and change will come to Washington.

In the former President Bill Clinton's own word, he said  “I’m actually old enough to remember the good old days, and they weren’t all that good in many ways. That message where ‘I’ll give you America great again’ is if you’re a white Southerner, you know exactly what it means, don’t you. What it means is ‘I’ll give you an economy you had 50 years ago, and I’ll move you back up on the social totem pole and other people down. What Hillary wants to do is take the totem pole down, and let us all go forward together.”

Icheoku bemoans this as exactly what is wrong with politics as politicians lie and lie just to befuddle and deceive the people into electing them. If believed, it sure then looks like a case of the pot calling the kettle black; or the former president is gone off the reservation as some light switches are beginning to turn off in his brain. A case of misfiring neurons one would say, because the former president in 1991 at a campaign event in Little Rock Arkansas used similar phraseology when he declared "Together, we can make America great again." Bill Clinton repeatedly used the same slogan throughout his presidential campaign through 1992 both on campaign stumps and during television interviews. Once again in a television commercial for his wife Hillary Clinton in 2008, Bill Clinton said, “It’s time for another comeback, time to make America great again.”

Icheoku says American people to be the judge as it is about time this lying couple Clintons are permanently retired for good just like the Bush family. Away with the Clintons and let America move away from them in order to truly move forward. America is not a monarchy nor is it a family only governed country. This will be a great opportunity to pivot and move forward and away from a couple whose only trademark is always telling barefaced lies thinking and hoping to beguile the people. Imagine Bill Clinton claiming now that "Make America Great Again" is a racist dog whistle when himself repeatedly used same in the past and as recently as 2008. Icheoku says voting to elect Hillary Clinton will be validating their lying behavior and this is a very bad. So reject Hillary Clinton and let the lying couple Clintons not have their way with American people again, not this time. Enough of the "I did not" either have sex with that woman or email classified emails tales.

DONALD TRUMP AND HILLARY CLINTON COMMANDER IN CHIEF TEST FORUM

Icheoku says glad that the Crooked One finally agreed to step out of her hiding from the media cocoon to answer to some questions about her several misdeeds, especially the 33,000 bleach-washed missing emails, her judgments and of course why her longevity of over 30 years in politics have not accomplished all the things she is now promising to get done? Further, why didn't Hillary Clinton and President Barack Obama do all these things she is now bandying around as her would constitute her task if elected? Hillary Clinton also admitted that her vote on Iraq and the war was a mistake and you wonder why she did not explain her "we came, we saw and he died" guffaw over the later murder of an innocent and changed Libyan Muommar Gaddafi?

Anyway, the then presidential candidate Barack Obama was right that Hillary Clinton would say and do anything just to get elected; but this November 8, American people will vote to reject politics as usual. The American people will vote for change as the country definitely needs a new direction from this past eight years of knee jerk governance and voting Hillary Clinton will only be a continuation of the same failed Obama's wish-washy policies. Good enough, the verdict of this CNC forum is already out and Donald Trump trounced Hillary Clinton 63% to 37%. Icheoku says Go Trump; Vote Trump and help America get the right Commander in Chief with the right judgment call, who will think things through before sending our men and women into harms way. Vote Donald Trump and together help make America great again.

KAEPERNICK, JUST SAY NO TO KNEELING: IT IS UN-AMERICAN.

JUST SAY NO TO KNEELING: IT IS UN-AMERICAN.

ICHEOKU says from being disrespectful to the flag to being unappreciative of the services of the military to overall being anti America; NFL players must learn to check their political activism outside the stadiums. They must not kneel on our dime. ICHEOKU supports the president 1000% on this and hereby calls on every player to respect the sensibilities of the many differently opined fans who paid to watch a game and not to be made mad by their personal political agenda.

HILLARY CLINTON'S COUGH BOUTS, POSSIBLE LUNG CANCER?

Icheoku says it is certainly a cause for concern and should cause American voters to weigh their options properly before pulling that lever for president come November 8. It does not bode well for Crooked Hillary Clinton to repeatedly have these bouts of coughing and simply dismissing them as her allergy for Trump. If only she will release her medical records for the American people to see how well enough she is to be president. But unfortunately, this will also be a very tall order to make, considering that the very secretive candidate who refused to release her Wall Street speeches, her deleted emails, would so willingly release her medical records. Anyway, American people will certainly have this weighted on their minds inside the polling booths.

SON OF A WHORE COMMENT, PHILIPPINES RODRIGO DUTERTE CROSSED THE LINE.

Icheoku says it was as unprovoked as it was undiplomatic and defies every diplomatic niceties, especially coming from a supposedly friendly nation. For anyone, especially a president of another country to allude or categorically state or infer that a sitting president of another country is a son of a prostitute is to say the least very uncomplimentary, rash and insulting. A matter made worse, because it was coming from the president of the Philippines Rodrigo Duterte, a supposedly friendly country and an ally, against President Barack Obama of the United States of America. That the two countries have a relatively cordial relationship is arguable; hence no rhythm or reason for this unprovoked insult and diatribe against both the president and his mother.

Icheoku says were it some other country which does not have a comparable relationship with America, such as Iran or North Korea, that their president used such unflattering words against the president, may be people could read some continuing pattern of same acerbity to the current insult. But for the Philippines' president, a country for which America has done so much and still continuing; and for whose protection, America is also currently embroiled in a face-off with China over the South China seas, to mouth off so insultingly, is unacceptable. Icheoku says President Rodrigo Duterte needs to apologize and apologize speedily for his remarks; because such uncouth remark is capable of damaging existing cordial relationship between the Philippines and the United States of America.

By saying what he said, President Rodrigo Duterte cast unfathomable aspersion and ridicule on the person of President Barack Obama, the president's mother as well as the entire United States of American people. By calling the president's mother a common prostitute, an allegation which is both factually and legally incorrect and which cannot be in any other manner substantiated; President Duterte defamed the president mightily. It is of such magnitude that were it between two persons who are subject to the local jurisdiction of courts, it could have triggered an action in defamation. Possibly with a hefty punitive damage for damaging the personal reputation of the president, his mother as well as the American people, who according to President Duterte elected a bastard as president?

That the president's mother was legally and lawfully married to the president's father and was not a prostitute but a wife, when the couple had the president is an incontrovertible fact known to Duterte but which he chose to ignore. Admitted  President Barack Obama did the right thing by not meeting as earlier planned on the sidelines with the Philippines president in Laos; but additional action is needed to send a clear message that insulting an American president will not be tolerated by Americans. Such should be considered as an insult to the entire country and the people whose president he is and who elected him twice as president after serious dueling verified his legitimate birth.

What a week it has been for a president who is on the last lap of his  presidency starting with China which humiliated the president by denying his a red carpet reception upon his arrival for the G20 summit; then their was the evil faced showdown or stare-down with Russian President Vladimir Putin culminating in Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte calling the president a son of a whore.

Icheoku says it was not just the president that President Duterte insulted; the president's mother's decency and reputation was also disparaged by calling her morality and virtue into question. This is very offensive and President Duterte ought to pay a hefty price for such mean spirited personal attack, especially one not provoked or warranted. Although Icheoku is no longer a personal fan of the president because of the manner he forsook blacks and Africans in general; as well as his refusal to sell Nigeria weapons with which to fight Boko Haram Islamist terrorists, but truth be told, he is still the president and deserving of respect, especially by a supposed ally.

If Philippines and their irascible president Rodrigo Duterte is not made to pay a price, it will only embolden others to similarly rebel against America. Already Turkey has told America to hell with you over the call for them to pull back from attacking Kurds in Northern Syria and has continued with their incursion therein. Iran the other day told America that they are no longer afraid of going to war with America. Vladimir Putin is also huffing and puffing. North Korea is there waging its finger, then add China which openly snubbed America by denying the president a ceremonial red carpet reception, in addition to Philippines president uncouth remark. So query, has the world finally had it with America and now ganged up to call America's bluff?

Icheoku does not know about you but a time like this calls for a hard nosed charging president in the White House who will be either respected or feared again. President Barack Obama failed in this department as he neither elicit either. Donald Trump will be that type of president America needs at this trying testy times. America can use his bold and brash persona, faced with all these conspiracies gone wild which is starring America down. President Barack Obama scored below average with his international diplomacy and relationship. It has never been this low, America's rating and standing in the world; and such demeaning look down attitude against America by the world will only get worse if the accident of a Crooked Hillary Clinton's presidency happens. America do the needful and regain respectability, Vote for Donald John Trump.

THE GREAT AMERICAN WALL, MEXICO WILL FOR.

THE GREAT AMERICAN WALL, MEXICO PAY FOR IT.

Icheoku says lets build that great wall of America and Mexico will pay for it. There is nothing wrong with that; moreso there will be gates for lawful entry and exit. Vote Trump and help make that security measure a reality.

Saturday, September 3, 2016

BUILD THAT GREAT AMERICAN WALL AND HAVE MEXICO PAY FOR IT.

BUILD THE GREAT WALL AND HAVE MEXICO PAY FOR IT.

Icheoku says if Mexico cannot afford it, they should borrow money from George Soros and sign off their country to the shark who has destroyed so many countries economies with his globalist agenda. China has their Great Wall; Jericho has their own too, ditto Vatican; so whats wrong with America having their own Great Wall of America. Go Trump; build that wall and have Mexico pay for it.

CROOKED HILLARY CLINTON, HER MANY SINS.

Icheoku says the crooked media is certainly covering for their Crooked Queen Hillary Clinton and not calling her out on so many things she has done or is doing wrong. From the apparent cover up in her email scandals in not pushing for her indictment, to her refusal to grant press conference in more than 276 days, to not visiting Milwaukee to felicitate with the city following the riots that took place there which destroyed so much, to not visiting Baton Rogue to commiserate with flood victims who were pummeled by a Noah's Ark flood of biblical proportion, to not honoring Mexican President Pena Nieto's invitation to put heads together over immigration problems toward finding comprehensive solution thereto.

Icheoku says it is instructive to mention that Donald Trump did all these and very well too, such that he was rated excellent, especially with his visit to Mexico in honor of the invitation which was extended to both candidates.

Icheoku does not know about any American out there who does not feel seriously violated by this in your face attitude of 'am better than anyone' of Crooked Hillary Clinton. How can someone who wants the American people to elect her president be this daft and unapologetically head-strong. Where is her recompense? Where is her contrition? Where is her effort to make amends and express her being truly sorry for all her infra-digs. Icheoku says American people must not allow her to get away with this and on November 8, must vote to reject her as president.

This is the only language she will understand  - a clear message that such flagrant violations is unacceptable and cannot be tolerated. Away with Crooked Hillary Clinton. Go Trump; Vote Trump and together help America reposition itself and start fixing so many broken promises and other things both home and abroad. Hillary Clinton, she lies too much and cannot be trusted with the presidency of the United States of America or any other highly sensitive position, because according to FBI she is extremely reckless and no one needs an extremely reckless person in the White House.

COLIN KAEPERNICK SAT FOR MILLIONS OF BUTT-LESS AND INVISIBLE SITTERS.

Icheoku says instead of smacking him in the mouth for sitting, 49ers Quarterback Colin Kaepernick should be commended for using his celebrity status to once again redirect attention to a seething American problem that has seen hundreds of Americans, especially black Americans, needlessly murdered by the police. It takes a lion's courage and the dare of an eagle to so bravery to take on a whole nation, sitting down, while the national anthem is being played in a pre-football game. No one could have done it any better and boy did he succeed in bringing attention back to this scourge that is increasingly getting worse and in an American society that the world better knows as a "paradise" on earth; except that certain portions of the American society are still excluded and systematically annihilated therefrom.

It would seem that the American unspoken mantra of do no harm; don't disturb the groove; was violated by the action of Colin Kaepernick. A mantra which provides "see nothing and say nothing". if you want peace in the land and especially if you are a minority celebrity star or a person of stature. But move outside the drawn circle and you are branded and hated as evil and an ingrate and an enemy of the state; an anti American. They did it to OJ Simpson; they did it to Michael Jackson; they did it to Mike Tyson; they did it to Mohmammed Ali; they did it to Martin Lurther King; they did it to Rosa Park; they did it to Malcolm X; they did it to Black Panthers Party; they did it to the two 1968 Olympians Tommie Smith and John Carlos and they did it to so many other people who braved it to speak up against injustice and racism which is still pervasive within the American society. It is with the same fervor of shut it down and keep them silent that Black Lives Matter is being persecuted today. Their modus operandi is whatever rears its ugly head towards disturbing the code of silence, must be met with fierce shut down or cut the head off if a need be.

Icheoku says it takes courage to stand up or as in this case to sit down for a cause one believes in; especially concerning the issue of race relations and police brutalization of black and other minorities of America. There are so many issues in America which need urgent straightening but which many Americans would rather they play a Hillary Clinton thereto, not being comfortable with the truth hence they either clam ignorance or flatly deny their existence. In a country that once supported apartheid; whose forebears were involved in slave trade and slavery; which still treats blacks and other minorities as sub par; which identifies every minority with their place of heritage and origin and summarily prefixes them with 'this and that' American, while accepting and treating only European whites as true Americans without any prefix; that is still very much segregated by neighborhoods, schools, churches and earning potentials etc cannot be said to be a wholesome country in the strict sense of that word.

If there are African Americans; Asian Americas; Latin Americans, why shouldn't there be European Americans or even English Americans or German Americans or French Americans etc? Even original inhabitants of the land are prefixed and branded Indian Americans but European Americans, especially British and Germans, are not. So the question remains, why not use a one cap fits all treatment in this branding of every American? Alternatively, why not dissolve these boundaries and let everyone become and be seen and addressed as an American, without all the divisive compartmentalization that only succeed in putting wedges amongst the American people.

Instead of working and fine-tuning these sore points of the society, the majority white Caucasians would rather they are swept under the carpet and not be disturbed by the stirring and swirling up of any dust. Icheoku bemoans that the wound of racism in America will remain a festering sore until it is properly properly attended to, dressed up and cured, and let the healing take place once and for all.  May be a good place to start is by ending the distinguishing and compartmentalization of Americans  into groups of 'this and that' American. There is African Americans; Latino Americans; Mexican Americans; Asia Americans; Chinese Americans; Jewish Americans; Italian Americans; Japanese Americans; Korean Americans and every manner of this and that American. But why then is it that there are no British or German or French Americans?

Anyway many of those left on the sharp end of the spear understands what Colin Kaepernick did and are silently sitting with him as he sat in protestation of the continuing racism which affects literally everything in America; including a justice system and law enforcement that is greatly skewed against the colored and helpless of the society. If there is one American and an American is killed unjustly by any policeman, every American will see it that one of them was unlawfully killed and then collectively demand for justice. But hell no, it is just another black guy that was killed, so no big deal; forgetting that this black guy was someone's child and probably a father and husband too. This is the reason there is resentment among African Americans, the usual victims, who see the police as agent of the white oppressive majority and who are sent out to go hunt down black people.

Like with every other men and women of conscience of the past, who refused to stay silenced and take it, Colin Kaepernick will similarly be made to pass through the grinding mill for daring to speak out. They will try to ruin him like they ruined every other person who ever dared to stand up for what is right or as in his case sit down for a justifiable cause. People burn flags in protestation; people have showed their disgust with the system in so many other ways, manners and forms, but Colin Kaepernick sat down and his sitting will cost him mightily.

Icheoku is certain he properly advised himself of the consequences of his action before he took that seat as a butt of the butt-less. Hopefully he will whether the storm well, admitted that such protesters of the past, especially those two 1968 Olympians Tommie Smith and John Carlos  suffered mightily for raising that their power fist in Mexico City. But Colin's message was sent and was well received amongst the oppressed minorities of America. It also reverberated globally and once again called into question America's high moral grounds of still subjugating and treating a member of its society with such decrepitude.

To Colin Kaepernick, Icheoku says know you that you have entered the pantheon of the greats of American minorities who stood up for what was just. Rosa Park, MLK, Mohammed Ali, Malcolm X etc will be smiling down from heaven, grateful that some men of courage are still abound among minorities of America. Thank you for sitting for the millions whose butt are invisible and be informed that you sat for Icheoku too. Icheoku says congratulations for a sitting well sat and know too that if Icheoku has a visible butt, Icheoku will sit longer and severally, more than the few minutes of a pre-game national anthem. FEMINISTS TREATING MEN BADLY, BAD FOR FEMINISM - CATHY YOUNG.

Feminist male-bashing has come to sound like a cliche — a misogynist caricature. Feminism, its loudest proponents vow, is about fighting for equality. The man-hating label is either a smear or a misunderstanding. Yet a lot of feminist rhetoric today does cross the line from attacks on sexism into attacks on men, with a strong focus on personal behavior: the way they talk, the way they approach relationships, even the way they sit on public transit.

Male faults are stated as sweeping condemnations; objecting to such generalizations is taken as a sign of complicity. Meanwhile, similar indictments of women would be considered grossly misogynistic. This gender antagonism does nothing to advance the unfinished business of equality. If anything, the fixation on men behaving badly is a distraction from more fundamental issues, such as changes in the workplace to promote work-life balance. What’s more, male-bashing not only sours many men — and quite a few women — on feminism. It often drives them into Internet subcultures where critiques of feminism mix with hostility toward women.

To some extent, the challenge to men and male power has always been inherent in feminism, from the time the 1848 Seneca Falls Declaration of Sentiments catalogued the grievances of “woman” against “man.” However, these grievances were directed more at institutions than at individuals. In “The Feminine Mystique,” which sparked the great feminist revival of the 1960s, Betty Friedan saw men not as villains but as fellow victims burdened by societal pressures and by the expectations of their wives, who depended on them for both livelihood and identity.

That began to change in the 1970s with the rise of radical feminism. This movement, with its slogan, “The personal is political,” brought a wave of female anger at men’s collective and individual transgressions. Authors like Andrea Dworkin and Marilyn French depicted ordinary men as patriarchy’s brutal foot soldiers.

This tendency has reached a troubling new peak, as radical feminist theories that view modern Western civilization as a patriarchy have migrated from academic and activist fringes into mainstream conversation. One reason for this trend is social media, with its instant amplification of personal narratives and its addiction to outrage. We live in a time when jerky male attempts at cyber-flirting can be collected on a blog called Straight White Boys Texting (which carries a disclaimer that prejudice against white males is not racist or sexist, since it is not directed at the oppressed) and then deplored in an article titled “Dear Men: This Is Why Women Have Every Right To Be Disgusted With Us.”

Whatever the reasons for the current cycle of misandry — yes, that’s a word, derided but also adopted for ironic useby many feminists — its existence is quite real. Consider, for example, the number of neologisms that use “man” as a derogatory prefix and that have entered everyday media language: “mansplaining,” “manspreading” and “manterrupting.” Are these primarily male behaviors that justify the gender-specific terms? Not necessarily: The study that is cited as evidence of excessive male interruption of women actually found that the most frequent interrupting is female-on-female (“femterrupting”?).

Sitting with legs apart may be a guy thing, but there is plenty of visual documentation of women hogging extra space on public transit with purses, shopping bags and feet on seats. As for “mansplaining,” these days it seems to mean little more than a man making an argument a woman dislikes. Slate correspondent Dahlia Lithwick has admitted using the term to “dismiss anything said by men” in debates about Hillary Clinton. And the day after Clinton claimed the Democratic presidential nomination, political analyst David Axelrod was slammed as a “mansplainer” on Twitter for his observation that it’s a measure of our country’s “great progress” that “many younger women find the nomination of a woman unremarkable.”

Men who gripe about their ex-girlfriends and advise other men to avoid relationships with women are generally relegated to the seedy underbelly of the Internet — various forums and websites in the “manosphere,” recently chronicled by Stephen Marche in the Guardian. Yet a leading voice of the new feminist generation, British writer Laurie Penny, can use her column in the New Statesman to decry ex-boyfriends who “turned mean or walked away” and to urge straight young women to stay single instead of “wasting years in succession on lacklustre, unappreciative, boring child-men.”

Feminist commentary routinely puts the nastiest possible spin on male behavior and motives. Consider the backlash against the concept of the “friend zone,” or being relegated to “friends-only” status when seeking a romantic relationship — usually, though not exclusively, in reference to men being “friend zoned” by women. Since the term has a clear negative connotation, feminist critics say it reflects the assumption that a man is owed sex as a reward for treating a woman well. Yet it’s at least as likely that, as feminist writer Rachel Hills argued in a rare dissent in the Atlantic, the lament of the “friend zoned” is about “loneliness and romantic frustration,” not sexual entitlement.

Things have gotten to a point where casual low-level male-bashing is a constant white noise in the hip progressive online media. Take a recent piece on Broadly, the women’s section of Vice, titled, “Men Are Creepy, New Study Confirms” — promoted with a Vice Facebook post that said: “Are you a man? You’re probably a creep.” The actual study found something very different: that both men and women overwhelmingly think someone described as “creepy” is more likely to be male. If a study had found that a negative trait was widely associated with women (or gays or Muslims), surely this would have been reported as deplorable stereotyping, not confirmation of reality.

Meanwhile, men can get raked over the (virtual) coals for voicing even the mildest unpopular opinion on something feminism-related. Just recently, YouTube film reviewer James Rolfe, who goes by “Angry Video Game Nerd,” was roundly vilified as a misogynistic “man-baby” in social media and the online press after announcingthat he would not watch the female-led “Ghostbusters” remake because of what he felt was its failure to acknowledge the original franchise.

This matters, and not just because it can make men less sympathetic to the problems women face. At a time when we constantly hear that womanpower is triumphant and “the end of men” — or at least of traditional manhood — is nigh, men face some real problems of their own. Women are now earning about 60 percent of college degrees; male college enrollment after high school has stalled at 61 percent since 1994, even as female enrollment has risen from 63 percent to 71 percent. Predominantly male blue-collar jobs are on the decline, and the rise of single motherhood has left many men disconnected from family life. The old model of marriage and fatherhood has been declared obsolete, but new ideals remain elusive.

Perhaps mocking and berating men is not the way to show that the feminist revolution is about equality and that they have a stake in the new game. The message that feminism can help men, too — by placing equal value on their role as parents or by encouraging better mental health care and reducing male suicide — is undercut by gender warriors like Australian pundit Clementine Ford, whose “ironic misandry” often seems entirely non-ironic and who has angrily insisted that feminism stands only for women. Gibes about “male tears” — for instance, on a T-shirt sported by writer Jessica Valenti in a phototaunting her detractors — seem particularly unfortunate if feminists are serious about challenging the stereotype of the stoic, pain-suppressing male. Dismissing concerns about wrongful accusations of rape with a snarky “What about the menz” is not a great way to show that women’s liberation does not infringe on men’s civil rights. And telling men that their proper role in the movement for gender equality is to listen to women and patiently endure anti-male slams is not the best way to win support.

Valenti and others argue that man-hating cannot do any real damage because men have the power and privilege. Few would deny the historical reality of male dominance. But today, when men can lose their jobs because of sexist missteps and be expelled from college over allegations of sexual misconduct, that’s a blinkered view, particularly since the war on male sins can often target individuals’ trivial transgressions. Take the media shaming of former “Harry Potter” podcaster Benjamin Schoen, pilloried for some mildly obnoxious tweets (and then an insufficiently gracious email apology) to a woman who had blocked him on Facebook after an attempt at flirting. While sexist verbal abuse toward women online is widely deplored, there is little sympathy for men who are attacked as misogynists, mocked as “man-babies” or “angry virgins,” or even smeared as sexual predators in Internet disputes.

We are headed into an election with what is likely to be a nearly unprecedented gender gap among voters. To some extent, these numbers reflect policy differences. Yet it is not too far-fetched to see the pro-Donald Trump sentiment as fueled, at least in part, by a backlash against feminism. And while some of this backlash may be of the old-fashioned “put women in their place” variety, there is little doubt that for the younger generation, the perception of feminism as extremist and anti-male plays a role, too.

This theme emerged in Conor Friedersdorf’s recent interview in the Atlantic with a Trump supporter, a college-educated, 22-year-old resident of San Francisco who considers himself a feminist and expects his career to take a back seat to that of his higher-earning fiancee — but who also complains about being “shamed” as a white man and voices concern about false accusations of rape.

As this campaign shows, our fractured culture is badly in need of healing — from the gender wars as well as other divisions. To be a part of this healing, feminism must include men, not just as supportive allies but as partners, with an equal voice and equal humanity.

JESSE JACKSON BE MAN ENOUGH, ENDORSE TRUMP.

ICHEOKU says why Jesse Jackson is not leading the fight for the election of Donald Trump as president of the United States of America shows the thing wrong with politicians. A man who stood up for him and his rainbow Coalition as well as black Americans when it was not cool to do so, is a man deserving of reciprocity of love and affection with their support. Donald Trump stood up and helped black people foray into Wall Street, showing a propensity to do right for black Americans; hence his promised address of black American issues should be seriously considered and his offer accepted by black Americans and they in turn support his current quest for the presidency. Icheoku, after watching this video, says Jesse Jackson, in all consciousness should have no other choice but to damn whatever consequences and political upheaval it might cause, and man up and stand up for a man who stood up for him and black folks in the past.
