OBASANJO-BUHARI FEUD: OBASANJO IS THE VILLAIN.

ICHEOKU says that Nigerians are still suckling up to this man, after the many atrocities he perpetrated in Nigeria and being for the most part, singly responsible for the retarded and stunted growth of the country, is the real joke in the current face-off between him and President Muhammadu Buhari. Olusegun Obasanjo has been in power for the longest time in Nigeria and to a large extent, never left power actually and has always remained in power through the proxy of the several men who he has maneuvered into power. 

From Shehu Shagari to Umaru Yar'Adua to Goodluck Jonathan and to now his latest target, President Muhammadu Buhari, Olusegun Obasanjo helped install all of them into power. As a result, they are required to obey his dictates and as long as they remained the obedient minion, it is all good; but once they want to assert themselves and free themselves from his apron string and shackles, Olusegun Obasanjo will suddenly turn against them to tell Nigerians that they made a mistake by listening to him by electing a president whom he told them to elect. What manner of a person is this man from Ota, Ogun State, one would ask? 

Obasanjo's special privilege of being in power actually predates 1978, way back to 1967 when he was promoted a military commander in the Nigeria army that tried but failed to completely wipe out the Igbo nation. As a result, he was mightily rewarded with rapid promotions by his Fulani masters which saw him become a Federal Commissioner for Works and Housing and then to Chief of Staff Supreme Headquarters and later to Head of State in 1976. He later went to prison for treason and was released and made president by the same Fulani Northern cabal; and till today, he is still very much around in power, in one form or the other; and his words still sways opinion in the country. Now he is once again starting another ruckus with the incumbent President Muhammadu Buhari, like all the other presidents and Heads of State before him, and challenging him to do something about it. ICHEOKU says hopefully Obasanjo has not mistaken Buhari for the coward of Otuoke as he might be forced to accept the gauntlet thrown by Obasanjo and actually hogtie Obasanjo for good.

ICHEOKU says this is a man who has been in power for so long and continuously causing trouble in the country, so until Nigerians learn to ignore him or he joins his ancestors, which ever one comes first, Nigeria, unlike Kenneth Kaunda's Zambia, shall never be free. So ask yourself Nigerians, if this man has been in power for as long as he has been around in power and Nigeria is still mired down as it is, who else is to blame but the architect of such policies and mismanagement that midwifed its current near stagnant status. Therefore ICHEOKU is emphatic that Olusegun Obasanjo has no moral standing to query any president or leader, following after him, because his crass ineptitude and lack of foresight caused more damage to the country's development and well being than any leader past, present or future will ever cause. 

Suddenly his 2015 refrain that "Buhari was "educated enough to be Nigeria's president", has now changed to "Buhari cannot read or write" in 2018. So what changed between then and now or was the Buhari's education which was sufficient then in 2015 been wiped off from Buhari's brain, to now make Buhari a dunce, a complete tabula-rasa. How did a man who was educated enough to be president suddenly go blank and into a state of total ignorance and abject low information. It is either Olusegun Obasanjo lied to Nigerians then in 2015 when he vouched for Buhari's education or he is lying to Nigerians now with his current assertion that Buhari cannot read or write. So Nigerians, is it not a better proposition to find out which version of truth is Obasanjo speaking and with a man like that who speaks as it is convenient for him worthy of the trust of Nigerians. If he lied then in 2015, why is it not okay to assume that he is once again lying in 2018. Olusegun Obasanjo is not trustworthy, Olusegun Obasanjo cannot be trusted, hence Olusegun Obasanjo must be rejected. Enough of his manipulations and cunning.

It is always about him, a very narcissistic personality, before whom no other person survives or thrives and above him, there must never be another Nigerian. This has always been his stock in trade, the driving influence behind his antics and his supposedly altruistic love for Nigeria. The scheme is to always keep every other person down and below him so that no one will ever trump his supposed legacy, as the longest served Nigeria's leader. But unfortunately, Nigeria is deficient of critical thinkers and without such a critical mass, who would have helped change a lot of things which are going awry, Olusegun Obasanjo operates freely in his devilish manipulations. So ask yourself, which leader of Nigeria has Olusegun Obasanjo not attacked; just name or mention just one leader that was spared of his venomous sting. He attacked Yakubu Gowon and as then Head of State maintained Gowon's exile status alive until President Shehu Shagari gave him a State pardon. Obasanjo attacked Shehu Shagari, Muhammadu Buhari, Ibrahim Babangida, Sani Abacha, Abudulsalam Abubakar, Umaru Yar'Adua, Goodluck Jonathan and is again now nibbling at the heels of President Muhammadu Buhari. 

Needless to add that as both Head of State and President, Obasanjo tolerated no opposition or descent or even genuine criticism. He had a zero tolerance for anyone who is not a sycophantic groveler, but here he is dishing to other leaders what he did not allow others to even think about concerning him. 

What is Obasanjo's problem that he cannot allow any other Nigerian aspire for greatness or for anything and something above and beyond Olusegun Obasanjo. He enjoyed two terms in office but sabotaged others from similarly enjoying theirs. He wouldn't let Umaru Yar'Adua be until he was shut out from Aso Rock which embargo lasted until Yar'Adua died. He went after Jonathan Goodluck, writing his now infamous Satanic Verse letter, which attacks continued unabated leading to Jonathan calling him a motor park tout. Not to be outdone, he joined the conspiracy that removed Jonathan from office. Now it is President Muhammadu Buhari that has been sighted by his periscope and is presently at the receiving end of his poisonous spear of vindictiveness and wicked spirit of unforgiven. 

What is it with Olusegun Obasanjo that he always wants to be the news and center of attention, any informed and unbiased Nigerian would ask? ICHEOKU says other than his maniacal penchant to always remain relevant, undiminished and important, there is nothing there, there. Obasanjo had his chance and several times over to Make Nigeria Great Again but failed abysmally woefully. So why does Nigerians still align themselves with such an awful human being that is both as ugly inside as he is outside. What magic spell did Obasanjo cast on Nigerians that they usually and always do his bidding and listen to him like he is an oracle whose words must be obeyed as commanded. Admitted he is an Ota Deity but Ota is not Nigeria, hence his area of influence must be confined to the communities adjoining Ota,, its surroundings and nothing more.

This was the same Olusegun Obasanjo who told Nigerians that Buhari was educated enough to be president just a few short years ago in 2015; and now the same Olusegun Obasanjo is accusing the same President Buhari of being an illiterate who cannot read or write like his IG Transmission of Police. ICHEOKU says but what happened to the good old marital vows exchange precursor to speak up now or forever keep the peace? Why did Obasanjo not speak up when it would have mattered most, prelude to the 2015 election and why is he speaking now? Why did Olusegun Obasanjo not say something in 2015 about Buhari's lack of education and when it would have made a lot of difference. Does it mean that the relevant information about Buhari's lack of education was not available to Obasanjo or was not within his knowledge then in 2015, or that he purposefully decided to suppress it just to get rid of Jonathan Goodluck by any means possible, including fraudulently lying about this fundamental requirement for eligibility for the office. 

ICHEOKU says Nigerians should, instead of siding with Olusegun Obasanjo and cheering him on, engage their critical thinking and figure out what is it exactly, is driving Obasanjo's pistons. Why is Obasanjo doing what he is doing and why the current face-off between him and President Muhammadu Buhari, because Buhari's lack of literacy cannot be the reason; afterall Buhari has not improved anything about himself neither has his brain been magnetically zapped out of its knowledge since the same Obasanjo as Head of State made him Minister of Petroleum in 1975 and again supported his candidacy for president in 2015. Did Obasanjo purposefully appoint a man who cannot read or write Nigeria's Minister of Petroleum and if, how did Buhari conduct his job then, mixing and mingling with OPEC officials and holding his own both in Vienna and Saudi Arabia? If Buhari cannot read or write, how did he become Military Governor of Northeastern Nigeria under the same Obasanjo? But Nigerians are not asking relevant questions and have become mind numbed robots, who are easily swayed by a bullish fella, who is both shameless and brazen; and who has been manipulating Nigerians for so long. 

Nigerians should treat Baba Iyabo like the rabble rousing anarchist trouble maker that he is because he means the country no good. All his actions, past and present, are bent on sabotaging every president and make them not to outshine him. Obasanjo is petty and evil and Obasanjo is an unforgiving monster who slept with his son's wife Mojisola Gbenga Obasanjo. How a man who cannot maintain peace in his household, is allowed such a a leeway and preeminent position in Nigeria, as a broker of peace, is rather laughably ridiculous. A man who went through 4 wives and sired 24 children and has no relationship with most of them, if any, is rather an unfit person to preside over anyone's welfare and upkeep, especially that of a State. Therefore, Olusegun Obasanjo should be treated as a pariah accomplice and conspirator to the troubles which Nigeria has today, and subjected to relevant liabilities, necessarily accompanying such offenses. Olusegun Obasanjo is responsible for the fate which befell Nigeria since independence and continuing till this day. He is a failed leader and not deserving of all the hero worshipping which Nigerians accord him. Obasanjo is also not the knight in shinning armor, who rode on a white horse to save the day for Nigerians and rescue them from the tribulations of President Muhammadu Buhari, the Dracula of Daura. Obasanjo has no interest of Nigerians, but his own selfish self serving interest and therefore Nigerians must reject his current intrigues as sinister.

But what manner of a people are Nigerians that they have so easily and so soon, forgotten that it was Olusegun Obasanjo who midwifed President Muhammadu Buhari's presidency. Short of the plebeian mob in William Shakespeare's Julius Caesar, who fell under the spell of the oratorical prowess of Mark Anthony and killed Cicero the poet, having mistaken him for Cicero the conspirator, simply because both has same name, nothing else succinctly captures the mentality of the average Joe and Jill Nigerians. A bunch of willow flowers who easily sways with the wind, especially one generated by Olusegun Obasasnjo. Suddenly, the devil's maycare himself, Aremu Kikelemo Matthew Olusegun Obasanjo, is now a Saint anti-Buhari, just because he is now raising hell and battling the same man he helped make president; and whose testimony then was that Buhari was educated enough then to be president, but not anymore. Really?  

Nigerians must bravely look this Ota Deity in the eyes and tell him to take a hike because his intentions are not good. Oluesgun Obasanjo has bad intentions and he does not have the interest and well-being of Nigerians at heart. It is his peculiar sinister motive that is at play here and not any altruistic love of the country, country men and women. It is always about him and he is very manipulative and cunning and such men are dangerous.

During Babangida's attempt at transition in 1992, when Option 4 led to the demise of the genocidal Yakubu Jackal Gowon's quest for presidency,  routing him in his village polling booth, Obasanjo was quick to condemn Gowon for even thinking about it. He sarcastically admonished Gowon, chiding, what did Gowon forget in the presidency that he wants to go back there to collect? Continuing, Obasanjo said that every past presidents and Heads of State should not ever contest for the presidency but should make way for younger generations to come up. Again MKO Abiola ran for the presidency and when his election victory was annulled by Ibrahim Babangida, the same Olusegun Obasanjo, while speaking in South Africa, dismissively said that Abiola is not the Messiah who Nigerians are waiting for. He took sides with the Hausa/Fulani gangster North that denied Abiola his rightful presidency and saw to it that Abiola was killed in the process; only to turn around and reap from where he did not sow. Needless to add that he  suffered amnesia about what he had said in the past concerning former presidents and Heads of State running for the office. But that is Obasanjo for you. 

Obasanjo ran for president in 1999 and again in 2003, despite what he said to Gowon, leaving one wondering if he forgot to acquire enough wealth and went back twice just to do just that. Olusegun Obasanjo is himself not a Messiah, yet despite what he said about Abiola not being a Messiah, went ahead to become Nigeria's president and you ask yourself why? Nobody ever dictated to him nor said that Obasanjo will NEVER be president, but he did so to Atiku. Nobody ever told him that he is not refined enough and sophisticated enough to be president, but here he is telling another president that he cannot read or write. Nobody ever told Obasanjo that the cannot run for reelection but he said that to Jonathan and now again saying the same thing to Buhari. Query, who made Obasanjo a judge over Nigerians and why must Nigerians be beholden to this uncouth fella from the hills of Ota who is residing on the hills of Abeokuta. Enough of the Obasanjo voodoo of control over Nigeria.   

Obasanjo so much disrespected Goodluck Jonathan that he formed a parallel pseudo government in Abeokuta Hilltop and practically sabotaged the Jonathan's government, through and through; only that the coward of Otuoke allowed him to have his way. ICHEOKU says Olusegun Obasanjo does not see any good in other person but himself; and it is always all about Olusegun Obasanjo and nobody else. Any attempt by any other person or president to de-shine or diminish Obasanjo and his self-absorbed self, is always met with Obasanjo's protests and agitations; and his hollering often gets so loud that Nigerians are forced to buy into whatever idiotic crap that he is gushing about. Now he is fighting Buhari and some unthinking Nigerians are taking his side, thinking that a Messiah has arrived; but woe betide those who cannot or are incapable of seeing through his  smokescreen of deceit and cunning manipulation. 

ICHEOKU warned Nigerians about Olusegun Obasanjo in an article in the Benin Observer Newspapers in 1992, when the musings for return to civilian rule was crescendoing, but Nigerians did not listen. Again, in another article in 1999, WHO LET THE DOGS OUT, published Online, ICHEOKU warned Nigerians not to allow the military back in government, whether in uniformed khaki or flowing babaringa and agabada; and to shun Obasanjo candidacy; but again, it fell on deaf ears. The result ever since has been less than desirable, as the election of the retired military man Obasanjo has led to the election of another retired military man Muhammadu Buhari. Today, many of those formerly khaki wearing army men, following in the step of Obasanjo, are jostling for and waiting for their turn to also lay claim to what they believe, rightfully belongs to their department in the Nigeria political equation. Oluegun Obasanjo is evil and Olusegun Obasanjo's leadership has gotten Nigeria no where, yet some Nigerians are listening to what he says and have to say and you ask yourself why? 

It was Olusegun Obasanjo that created the monopoly known as Dangote PLC by stifling other competitors. It was Olusegun Obasanjo that killed a sitting Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Bola Ige. ICHEOKU is emphatic that an Attorney General and Minister of Justice of the Federation cannot be so easily killed, except the hit job was signed off by the highest political office holder in the country, which happened to be Olusegun Obasanjo. A matter made more laughable, because all the 12 MOPOLs guarding and protecting the AG had to go on "break" at the same time and it was the same window of opportunity that the "unknown murderers" struck. Bola Ige was having dinner with his family and rather than finishing their dinner, they had to watch in awe as their patriarch's brain was spattered on their dinner table. Imagine the trauma and horror of that evening, watching your father and husband hacked to death on your family's dinner table, at dinner time. ICHEOKU says such a coincidence is rarer than a Phoenix; and no sane person should ever entertain such ridiculousness as reality or that it had the slightest possibility of ever being true. Bola Ige was murdered and Olusegun Obasanjo is the responsible party to his murder, period. 

Odi Bayelsa and Zaki Ibiam Benue State are still two living examples of the devastation which Olusegun Obasanjo could cause to a place. It happened before with Kalakuta Republic in Mosalashi Yaba Lagos when the same Olusegun Obasanjo sent "unknown soldiers" to destroy Fela's Kalakuta Republic and they threw his 78 year old mother off the second floor balcony before burning the entire place to the ground. So Obasanjo's penchant for wrecking havoc and visiting mayhem on people is not disputable. It did not start with Odi or Zaki Ibiam because it is an inert quality of his, Olusegun Obasanjo is a sadist of the worst kind and this heartless zoo animal, a chimpanzee, is who Nigerians are listening to and taking orders from. Just think about all those Nigerians he assassinated during his presidency including Dikkibo, Marshall, Jumbo and the list goes on. 

ICHEOKU says Olusegun Obasanjo is a fraud, only that he has figured out how to brutishly manipulate Nigerians into using them to do his bidding. Obasanjo did not succeed as a president and he has refused to just go away, disappear and leave Nigerians alone and allow them to figure out their destiny or a life of Nigeria without an Olusegun Obasanjo. It is about time Olusegun Obasanjo is finally stopped and hopefully President Muhammadu Buhari will help Nigerians stop his madness and unending interference in the affairs of Nigeria. ICHEOKU calls on Nigerians to stop listening to Olusegun Obasanjo and whatever the heck he has to say because he says nothing meaningful nor fruitful or helpful to Nigerians. Olusegun Obasanjo is a trouble maker, who is out to disorganize, confuse and cause mayhem in Nigeria. Unlike Goodluck Jonathan who waited too long and it became too late when he decided to fight back, hopefully, Buhari will not be similarly caught flatfooted and will do something to checkmate Obasanjo. Enough of the Ota Deity's meddlesome interloping in Nigeria. 


ICHEOKU prays that President Muhammad Buhari arrests Obasanjo immediately and throw the books at him for threatening a breach of public peace. Buhari may be evil, but Obsanjo is the Lucifer incarnate of Nigeria, who has killed more Nigerians than all the past presidents and heads of State of Nigeria aggregated together. Obasanjo is callous, wicked, vengeful and vindictive, and has no milk of human kindness flowing in him. This is a guy who as president, went to Ikeja bomb victims who were complaining of thirst and shouted them down that they should be grateful that he even came to commiserate with them. This is a guy who kidnapped a sitting Anambra State Governor Chris Ngige. This is a guy who arbitrarily declared States of Emergency in three States and removed their governors without first obtaining the required Senate's consent. This is a guy who invented the proverbial banana peels that saw many Senate and Congressional leaders cycled through, one after another, and as he pleased; and thus rendered the check and balance of Nigeria's democracy ineffective, useless and non existent. 

As president, Olusegun Obasanjo nearly destroyed Nigeria's democracy and is still tirelessly working to achieve the same nefarious objective. He sought a third term but was frustrated by Ken Nnamani led Senate and he swore thereafter not to allow Nigeria's democracy grow and thrive; and has been sabotaging every president ever since following this exit from power. Obasanjo is also eminently corrupt; he introduced Ghana Must Go bags full of cash bribery politicking in Nigeria. Obasanjo was nearly bankrupt before he became president and went from a paltry N20,000 rich ex-felon to a trillionaire just after eight years of his presidency. The corruption under Obasanjo was such blatant that even his domestic servant, Andy Uba, also became a trillionaire as well. Obasanjo also killed many Nigerians including a sitting Attorney General Bola Ige. Yet, a man with such a putrefying credentials is who Nigerians are fleeing to for succor, at this hour of their near hopelessness and utter rage against President Muhammadu Buhari. ICHEOKU says wrong, wrong and more wrong; because without Obasanjo's devious conspiracies, there would have been no Buhari to begin with. 

Obasanjo knew Buhari before 2015; he appointed him Minister of Petroleum in 1975 and it is the same Buhari that is still in Aso Rock and now readying for 2019. So what changed? ICHEOKU's safest bet is that some promised illicit contractual obligations and business transactions were not seen through and the vengeful monster wants to extract his pound of flesh and nothing more. Nigerians must therefore be wary and not allow themselves to be used again by the cunning, manipulative Ota Deity and reject his current overtures intoto. Olusegun Obasanjo cannot be allowed to continue to pretend or pass himself off as the savior who Nigerians are clamoring for, because the history of Nigeria's despondency cannot be written without devoting several chapters of it to Olusegun Obasanjo's ineptitude and lack of qualitative administration skills. Olusegun Obasanjo will die someday and Nigerians will not cease to exist if he dies, so why must he be the only one always looked up to as the savior? Let Nigerians please deploy their sixth sense to see through the Obasanjo shenanigan and understand that he is there for himself alone and not Nigerians. Please Nigerians, say no to Olusegun Obasanjo's current pranks and forever free yourselves from his never ending manipulation.
