ICHEOKU says Madam Speaker Nancy Pelosi is now officially the gold standard bearer in politicians doublespeak. She is a poster politician in political shiftiness, swinging her positions on issues as the temperature of electoral fortune dictates. She is an illustration of the mistrust in politicians, the reason many people regard politicians with great contempt and disdain because they only think about their electability and nothing more.
Suddenly, Madam Speaker Nancy Pelosi woke up from her two years slumber and no longer finds "Defund The Police" a good policy objective for her Democratic Party. She now flatly denies that "Defund The Police" was ever a Democratic Party's agenda and that they have always been a party that "protects and defends" the community as that was the basis of their oath of office. Madam Speaker also conveniently forgot that many Democratic Party's elected officials in the House of Representatives are on record proclaiming the Defund The Police agenda and even campaigned on it. Vice President Kamala Harris donated money to a group championing the Democratic Party's Defund The Police agenda.
ICHEOKU says where was Madam Speaker Nancy Pelosi during the summer of 2020 when Black Lives Matter and ANTIFA held the country hostage, occupied streets, destroying, looting, burning properties and pulling down historical statues in America? Where was Madam Speaker Nancy Pelosi then denouncing these anarchists and/or renouncing and disclaiming their "Defund The Police" war cry? These anarchists are Democratic Party members and supporters. but never a time during their mayhem did Madam Speaker call them to order or condemn and denounce them and their Defund The Police battle cry.
All that Madam Speaker Nancy Pelosi reluctantly quipped was that "people will do what they do"; but never forcefully condemned them nor demanded that those Democratic Party's foot soldiers stopped their destructive activities. Madam Speaker Nancy Pelosi also did not call for strict law enforcement against these rioters to help free America from their vice grip. Yet Madam Speaker is now claiming that her Democratic Party is a party that "protects and defends" our communities. Really? Was Seattle not part of "our communities" and why did Madam Speaker not speak up and demand that they be protected and defended?
The story of their destruction was replicated across the land, but Madam Speaker maintained her political correctness silence, afraid that speaking up would offend her political power base, which make up the Black Lives Matter and ANTIFA anarchists. With their ballots, American voters condemned her and her Democratic Party for the riots and their Defund The Police agenda in the 2020 midterm. To Madam Speaker, it was a message sent and received; and now that another midterm is fast approaching, Madam Speaker wants to inform gullible American voters that her Democratic Party is not an anti-law enforcement Defund The Police party.
ICHEOKU says the better approach would have been for Madam Speaker to truthfully acknowledge that the message sent was received and that her Democratic Party has learnt a lesson and will do better going forward with their anti-law enforcement credentials. But for Madam Speaker to presume that American voters are memory deficient is adding insult to injury because American voters know exactly that the Democratic Party is for Defund The Police. Madam Speaker is being clever by half and once again trying to pull a wool over the eyes of American voters, by denying the obvious.
Black Lives Matter and ANTIFA wants police defunded or scrapped out, they are Democrats and the Democratic Party approves. The Squad also strongly supports Defund The Police as well as Vice President Kamala Harris. Madam Speaker Nancy Pelosi by her silence and failure to condemn the anti law enforcement and Defund the Police sentiments in her Democratic Party is technically also in support. So, when November 2022 comes, we shall know if she was able to successfully deceive some gullible American voters by her latest about-turn, barefaced denial that Defund The Police is not a Democratic Party's agenda and that the party never used it as a campaign slogan.
