ICHEOKU says unfortunately the Democratic Party seem not to have learned a lesson from their 2016 outing when they shielded Hillary Clinton from the public and made her unavailable to the media. As a result, American people did not get the opportunity of knowing her stand on the many issues facing them and they rewarded her with a rejection. Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are apparently headed in the same direction and their own result will not be any different come November 3rd, 2020 as repeatedly doing the same thing and expecting a different outcome is insanity defined.
ICHEOKU says if the duo think that they can just charm and smile their way to the White House, devoid of offering solutions to the many problems facing America, then they have another thing coming, an assured failed presidential run. Joe Biden has not been taking questions ever since he secured the presidential nomination and now that Kamala Harris has been chosen as his vice presidential candidate, it seems that she too have joined him in ignoring the media. It is unattainable and it is very fatal in presidential politics for ticket holders to expect American people to just hand them over the keys to the White House without knowing what the candidates intend to do when they get in there.
Even their discernible attempt to make the November 3rd election a one issue coronavirus campaign will not fly because coronavirus is just one of many issues facing American people and for which urgent solutions are needed. If they want American people to replace the president, then they must convince them on the imperativeness and why Joe Biden is a better alternative. This demands powerful arguments and answers as to why; it cannot be just only because Joe Biden is not President Donald John Trump or that some media pundits do not like the president. There has to be more convincing reasons why the president should not be reelected and they have to adduce them publicly through media engagements and answering questions. But so far, Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are not so directed and you wonder why and if they will, when?
ICHEOKU says the earlier the Democratic Party changes gear and make their presidential and vice presidential tickets holders available to the American public and allow journalists to dig out some answers to so many questions from them, the better their odds on November 3rd will be. But if they remain on the no taking of questions mindset, it will hurt their chances badly on Election Day as American people will not have been convinced on the need to replace the president A much more goal directed ticket would have been doing as many media events as they could muster and answering questions from wherever they might come and making their case to the American people on why they are a better alternative to the present ticket in the White House. But no, Joe Biden and Kamala Harris have no issues to run on and they believe that American people so much dislike the president that they will usher them into the White House without more.
Displacing an incumbent from office is not generally an easy task to pull off. It requires concerted effort because the people will want to know why they should take a risk with the newly offered instead of tagging along with what they already know and have. Whether what they will be getting is far much better than what they already have because most people do not normally change horses midstream, especially in time of great tribulation in the country. There is the coronavirus pandemic being managed, there is the economy in coma that needs to be resuscitated and of course there is the insurgent China that needs to be contained. The president is doing great tackling all the three major problems, so why should American people now take a chance with a tired and burnt out Joe Biden and his running mate Kamala Harris, who has been severally described as a transactional, slick and slippery character, to do a better job than the president without first convincing them.
Hopefully, Kamala Harris will find time to tell American people why she accepted the Joe Biden's offer to be on his ticket after believing the women who accused Joe Biden of sexually assaulting them and calling Joe Biden a racist. Kamala Harris answering this two questions will indeed help American people to correctly ascertain her character, core and conviction and determine if indeed she truly believed those things then or she was merely pandering to political expedience; and why those her beliefs no long hold up now and whether she is comfortable being on the same ticket with the same sexual assaulter and racist.
As for Joe Biden, he needs to tell American people why he has refused to take mental cognitive test and also explain to American people why he thinks he would do a better job than the president, especially after sharing the presidency of Barack Obama for eight long years; and why he believes that American people now trusts him to do the same job which he and Obama could not satisfactorily do between 2008 and 2016. But all these issues cannot be resolved unless Joe Biden and Kamala Harris start answering the questions about them. ICHEOKU says Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, please top insulting American people's intelligence by thinking that they have no thinking brains and will just vote for you just like that. Stop avoiding questions and start holding media events now, otherwise forget November 3rd as an already lost cause.
