His hatred for Ndigbo did not start today but began in 1966 when some Nigerian army officers carried out a military coup which was later branded an Igbo coup just to wipe out Igbo officers in the military. He was involved in the Nigerian war of attrition against Biafrans which claimed over 3 million Biafran lives principally orchestrated through starvation and attendant diseases. He followed it up with a military coup in December 1983 when he locked up an Igbo Vice President but put the Fulani president in a cozy house arrest. He also refused to support an Igbo man who was vying for Secretary of the then Organization of African Unity and instead saw to the successful election of his fellow contestant, a member of Buhari's Fulani stork from neighboring Niger Republic. And then he became president in 2015 and his hatred for Ndigbo went to stratospherically heights.
Now, he has completely dashed any hope of making amends for all his past storied anti Ndigbo disposition with his appointment of yet another Northern Inspector General of Police, a position which was expected to go to an Igbo person due to the lopsidedness of his previous appointments which completely marginalized and kept Ndigbo out. He appointed five security chiefs without even one Igbo person among them and in a country where Ndigbo is more than one third of the population. But Ndigbo remained ever optimistic that he will redress the imbalance when he appoints a new Inspector General of Police, which he has now done but still chose another Northerner instead. So, by his latest action he has confirmed beyond every shadow of doubt that he detests Ndigbo and does not want to have anything to do with them or maintain any relationship with them whatsoever.
He has proved once again that he will take his hatred for Ndigbo to hell when he eventually succumbs to the vagaries of old age. Ndigbo should let him know in unmistakable terms that they have accepted his gauntlet and acknowledge that they now fully understand that there is no love lost between him and Ndigbo. Ndigbo should endeavor to return his hatred back to him in kind as hate cancels hate just like fire quenches fire. He is not useful to Ndigbo and should not be treated with any more respect going forward. He should be completely ignored and scorned throughout the remainder of his term in office and waited out with much derision. There is no more use of respecting or cajoling him as nothing ever productive and beneficial to Ndigbo have come from all the past respects. Even some of his orders should be ignored where possible and welcoming him or any of his agents in the Southeast should be completely tabooed going forward.
In short, a strong message should be sent to Aso Rock denouncing Muhammadu Buhari's asinine hatred of Ndigbo, a major component part of Nigeria. If he could afford to not recognize Ndigbo as bona fide Nigerians, then Ndigbo should return the favor by also not recognizing him as a bona fide president of Nigeria. He is busy building railway lines to Niger Republic but none for Igbo land; ditto road constructions, refineries and other industries. He has neglected Southeast since he came into office and has completely ostracized Ndigbo from his government; so Ndigbo should ostracize him too from their lives in return favor. Enough of all the love shown to Muhammadu Buhari by Ndigbo which he normally pays back with vile and hatred. He has only two more years to go and Ndigbo have survived him for nearly six years now and will easily survive him for the remaining next two years.
This new Northern IGP appointment is another reason for the hopelessly optimistic Ndigbo who are wishing for a Nigerian president of Igbo extraction in 2023 to be really worried as their expectation might be similarly dashed. It is apparent that Muhammadu Buhari will not in this life hand over power to an Igbo person, having shown the much he hates Ndigbo with such venom. No previous Nigerian president have ever marginalized any group of Nigerians as Ndigbo are are currently being marginalized under Muhammadu Buhari's presidency. A clear testament that nobody wants Ndigbo in Nigeria yet they will not allow them to secede and form their own country, Biafra. All the marginalization is going on but there is no outcry from other tribes in in Nigeria in condemnation of Ndigbo's fate under Muhammdu Buhari, being so singled out in this manner.
They see Ndigbo as useful idiots only good for carrying the thankless workload of Nigeria's unity but not good for governance or the headship of any Nigerian security agency. Ndigbo do all the heavy lifting which sustains Nigeria, including carrying the economy, stocking and resupplying various chains of needs, paying largest import duties, VAT and taxes; and also hugely involved in real estate development of Nigeria. But all they get in return for all their contributions to Nigeria sustainability is such maltreatment of marginalization and that they are not good enough to hold real power. ICHEOKU says it is about time the Ndigbo's rejection by Muhammadu Buhari and other Nigerians is reciprocated in kind and let the particles collide of it must. It does not necessarily have to be a shooting hot war, a Cold War will suffice. But enough of the fruitless effort to remain good Nigerians by Ndigbo. #EnoughWIthBuhari
