OLYMPICS 2016 ENDS: SO LONG RIO, WELCOME TOKYO.

Icheoku says the festivities of the world, marking global friendship, concludes in Rio de Janeiro  Brazil and off to Tokyo Japan it goes in 2020. 

Icheoku says despite all the initial snafus and doubts whether or not Brazil was ready for the Olympics games, the games held and concluded without any major incident, either as to security or provisions of amenities. Icheoku says congratulations to host country Brazil and city Rio for a well conducted Olympics and hopefully they broke even hosting the event. See you in Tokyo in 2020. Ciao.

RIO OLYMPICS 2016 FOOTBALL FINALS: - BRAZIL WINS, NIGERIA WINS.

Icheoku says Neymar led his Brazillian U-23 team to the finals, defeating Germany 5 - 4 in penalty kicks to win the gold medal. Nigeria on the other side, led by Mikel Obi, beat Honduras 3 - 2 to win the bronze medal. Icheoku says congratulations to Brazil and Nigeria for their victories in the finals of the Rio Olympics Under-23 football tournament. 

TRUMP'S BOGEY MAN SCARE, A BAIT AND HOOK DIVERSIONARY TACTIC.

Icheoku says Republican Party presidential candidate, Donald John Trump, is definitely not the bogey man the Clinton machine and their media allies are trying desperately so hard to paint, make and create out of him. The Clintons campaign have tried the battle of ideas and issues as well as policies but are finding it extremely difficult to snatch the narrative, hence the switch to diversionary tactic of paint him so bad looking that the people would run away from him to any other available shelter, including one manned by Hillary Clinton. A case of Donald Trump is the devil and Hillary Clinton is the deep blue sea; perhaps she might spring up a Nineveh whale to come to the rescue and carry you to safety with Hillary Clinton. 

Icheoku says admitted that there have been some not so kosher answers and responses to some questions over the campaign period; but a campaign is like a job interview and a man who has never interviewed for a job in his life, talkless of ever auditioning for the highest office in the land, the presidency, is not expected to be as seasoned in the art of playing fast ball with questions but answers them as it comes to him straight from the heart. Donald Trump is not used to filtering words and statements nor the art of politically correct speaking. Unlike the other camp's entrenched politician, Hillary Clinton, who is given to telling lies and have told so much lies that it would last her a lifetime. Icheoku says Crooked Hillary Clinton have a repertoire of decades of lying her way through so many things that lying has become an integral part of who she is. As between Hillary Clinton and lies, they are but a siamese twins incapable of separation from one another. 

Icheoku says should a job interview be the sole indicator that a prospective employee could not and would not do the job for which he or she is being interviewed if hired? Icheoku says no, as there could be some other factors that inhibited the interview experience; including stage fright and not given to putting up facades and pretenses usually associated with such job auditioning. Icheoku instead of the none existent monster, the Hillary Clinton's team is trying to paint Donald Trump, the American people should look closer to see in Donald Trump, a man who could do the job of the presidency; being a CEO of several reputable companies and has successfully ran them till date. Donald Trump will be the best president Americans would ever have and Donald Trump should be given the opportunity to bring his CEO mindset to bear on America's governance. Donald Trump will help repair the damage of the so many years which entrenched political interests have sat upon, refusing to do something about it and will not do anything about because they don't want their applecart to be upturned. 

It is a rule of the thumb that when people are scared, they would run to safety and away from the source of scare. Often times it is always a case of two opposing scares sandwiching the people from which they seek an escape path. Such people are usually forced to take the path of the less resistance. Team Hillary Clinton has figured out this and also that no American wants any more of the Clintons, hence their resort to discrediting Donald Trump to make him unacceptable option. The Clintons are painting Donald Trump as a toothy monster from hell, who would devour Americans if they did not run away from him and as fast as possible. Their mantra, if Donald Trump is horrific, Hillary Clinton is less threatening. If Donald Trump will eat you alive; at least Hillary Clinton will first mercifully kill you before eating you? If Donald Trump will chastise you with scorpions, Hillary Clinton will only use whip? To Team Crooked Hillary, American people should just come to them simply because  they will not be as cannibalistic as the other guy. 

Icheoku says just understand that the Hilary Clinton side are not saying that they are good people, only that the other guy is worser. Thus begging the question, how was the determination made that as between a person who is part of the problems facing America, having been entrenched in politics for the past forty something odd years; and a novitiate who is still taking baby steps foray into politics, that the later is or could be a worst evil than the problem herself that the later wants to solve. Icheoku says buying into this illogicality is simply a passport to mental asylum and should therefore be rejected by the American people. This election is about change and solving the so many problems starring American people down. Only one man can do it. He is passionate; he is patriotic and he has a can-do attitude and have so many accomplishments to back his words. That man is Donald John Trump and Icheoku says America, cast your lot with him and elect him the next president.

HILLARY'S CROOKED DEFENSE - WILLIAM MCGURN.

"I’m not a crook.” In 1973 the sitting president, Richard Nixon, used these words at a news conference to deny allegations he had profited off his public service. 

In 2016 an aspiring president, Hillary Clinton, as part of her campaign for the White House, is advancing an aggressive variant of the Nixon defense. It runs like this: Anything that isn’t criminal is permissible—and therefore none of it should be disqualifying for the Oval Office. 

This has become the go-to argument for Team Clinton these days. Thus Maryland Democrat Rep. Elijah Cummings was quick out of the box last week when the State Department’s inspector general released a damning report finding that then-Secretary of State Clinton had defied the department’s rules by setting up her private email server. Mr. Cummings, ABC News said, pointed out that the inspector general’s report “does not accuse Clinton of any crime.” The implication is that it therefore doesn’t matter. 

Chalk it up as one legacy of the first Clinton presidency, which has prepared the way for the second. Because by refusing to resign after being caught out in an affair with an intern, President Bill Clinton successfully lowered the bar for would-be President Hillary. 

In his fight to remain in office, Mr. Clinton’s argument was that because sex between two consenting adults—even between the president of the United States and a subordinate 27 years his junior—wasn’t a crime, it was nobody’s business but his and his family’s. In this brave new world, even perjury turned out not to be a crime when Bill Clinton did it, because it was about sex. 

Today the No Crime/No Foul defense defines the case for Mrs. Clinton. And she and her defenders have been invoking it for years: 

"There were no criminal violations involved here.” The speaker was Clinton Budget Director Leon Panetta in July 1993, putting forward the White House party line on the firing of seven people in the travel office, in which some had detected Hillary’s hand. Three years later, an internal memo would surface confirming Mrs. Clinton as the force behind the sackings. 

“As far as even a breath of criminal activity by either the president and the first lady, it will turn out to be nothing at all.” This time it was White House counsel Lloyd Cutler in March 1994, dismissing the inquiry into the smelly Whitewater land deal. The remark came at the same time Mrs. Clinton was explaining to the press that she hadn’t been forthcoming about the details because she had been trying to protect her family’s privacy. 

“Those motives for helping Webb Hubbell, you can criticize or not, but they’re not criminal.” This was 1998, and it was now the turn of Lanny Davis, a former White House special counsel. Mr. Davis was arguing that the hundreds of thousands in payments that Mrs. Clinton’s former law partner had received from Clinton associates after he’d resigned from the Justice Department was not hush money to keep him quiet. 

“No evidence of a crime.” “Nothing criminal.” “Nothing illegal.” “No criminal activity.” How frequently these words pop up when the subject of discussion is some action by Mrs. Clinton. 

Now we have the FBI investigation into her private email server. When the New York Times reported the news last year, the Clinton campaign haggled over the Times’s use of—you guessed it!—the word “criminal” the Times had used to describe the investigation. The Times issued a correction. 

In a perverse way, it all works to Mrs. Clinton’s advantage. For so long as a criminal conviction is presented as the only possible disqualification for running for president, Mrs. Clinton will remain viable even if she does get indicted. In addition, the whole obsession with whether the FBI investigation will end up in an indictment helps deflect attention away from other key aspects of the server mess that themselves make pretty substantive claims for Mrs. Clinton’s unfitness. 

Even putting aside the question of criminality, we know the following: While in a position of trust, Mrs. Clinton deliberately chose to put American security at risk by setting up her home server. In so doing, she also concealed what should have been public records from the American people. In the year since she’s been found out, almost every public statement she has made in defense of her actions has been exposed as false. And she refused to cooperate with investigators. 

In short, this is a woman who never tells the truth when a lie will serve her purposes equally well. 

What an extraordinary place this has left her party and her country. Here we are, six months out from the presidential election, and the Democratic nominee is under federal investigation. 

It used to be, before the Clintons first moved into the White House, that having no criminal conviction was something that kept you out of prison. But the way Mrs. Clinton and her defenders talk, it’s almost as though it should make her president.

DONALD TRUMP'S APOLOGY, MAY BE A GOOD WELCOME REBOOT?

Icheoku says because no man is infallible and in order to clear all the cobwebs of distractions currently hounding his campaign and refocus the American public's attention  on what is more important -  his message of make America great again; it will be a nice step in the right direction if the presidential nominee of the Republican Party, Donald John Trump, could allay the fears and concerns arising from his campaign rhetorics. He could do this by simply addressing the nation in a press conference and explain some of the issues of concern. Now is the time to do it and in order to bandage the current bleeding his campaign is suffering and to ensure a firmer path towards berthing in the White House this November.

Icheoku believes that an explanatory apology, not expressly admitting fault; but one explaining his missteps and misspeaks as a rookie's mistakes, will successfully wipe clean whatever blame slate he currently has. This will enable him get back on track with his message and entirely on a fresh clean slate going forward. The time has come for Donald Trump to do this mea culpa and make up with the American people who feel strongly violated by some of what he said or how he said them. There should be no more waiting or dig dallying because with every day, election day draws nearer and no limping should be accepted at this hour. Admitted that he did nothing wrong nor illegal, but because politics is a game of pandering, he should learn how to dance to some of these political macabre tunes and give those cry babies their brief time in the sun, cuddling them as may be needed before the cameras. Some of them have hurt feelings and needs to be pacified; and a politician should see nothing wrong or ego challenging in doing this.

Donald Trump should start by first placating every aggrieved member of the contentious Republican Party primaries squad of 16; many of whom are still nursing their hurt feelings and deflated ego, having lost the party's nomination to a rookie politician. There is nothing wrong in calling a meeting of truce with these sixteen presidential candidate wanna bees and have a serious heart to heart parley with them. Donald Trump should hear them out, apology privately to them as may be needed and ask them to please sheath their swords in the interest of the party. He could also promise them total involvement and inclusion in a President Donald Trump's presidency. He could even promise them political appointments, including cabinet secretary positions, ambassadorial postings etc. Whatever gets them going and in order to win the election should be worth exploring. Donald Trump needs to do this and do it now, without any further delay nor hesitation. 

Then he must also explain to the Muslim world and clarify his very narrowed objection to fanatical Muslims invading America and by so doing take the wind out of the sail of his traducers who have magnified what he said to an intolerable scare amongst Muslims. Donald Trump must explain to these sacred Muslims that he had many Muslim friends, many of who are his business partners and employees and that he never meant for a wholesale exclusion of all Muslims from the United States of America, but only those who want to do America harm. So also should he address other interests groups and blocs including illegal immigrants, whose feathers were ruffled by what he said or did not say politically, correctly; and then ask them to please forgive his misspeaks in the interest of helping him make America great again. 

Icheoku says like the story told of a dog sent to God with a message from humanity to abolish death which was distracted by the devil with some doggie treat enroute, Donald Trump has been distracted from his messaging and needs to get back on track and remain tunnel-visioned, staying in the narrow straight line of message only that will eventually lead him to the White House. He should avoid all eye contacts with all those curve balls or proverbial cakes of distraction being strewn on his path and side walks. He should keep his eyes on the ball and with the big picture of the White House in view, stay on message, the only vehicle that will transport him thereinto. Icheoku says all these needless distractions are the only weapon left in the arsenal of Hillary Clinton and they will continue to deploy it maximally and in order to rattle and get Donald Trump off his message. Falling for these baits must therefore be avoided and loathed like leprosy; and studiously staying on message is the key, the all it takes to win the presidency. 

So it will therefore be good for Donald Trump to reset his campaign and redirect the American people to what brought him thus far, his plans of making America great again. That he is not the two horned monster the Democrats are making him out to be but a loving man whose passion for America burns ferociously and that he will be president for all Americans. Donald Trump must as a matter of urgency, do this and do it now; and a good place to start will be tendering an apology to all that he might have offended in the course of his campaign.  He must unequivocally and explicitly ask them to forgive his rookie mistakes, being not a seasoned entrenched politician, used to forked-tongue, bifurcated double speak. Icheoku believes that such a contrition would engender him more to the worried American people who will begin to see him as a human being with a real heart. A moved American people would embrace him and help him make America great again. 

HILLARY CLINTON'S ELECTION STRATEGY: DIVIDE REPUBLICANS, DEMONIZE TRUMP.

Icheoku says a house divided is a house that is susceptible and bound to fall. In the time tested wartime or colonial strategy, divide and conquer, as always, is the name of the game. This is the only bullet left in the arsenal of Crooked Hillary Clinton as she desperately guns for the White House and they are milking every inch of it. This could however be avoided, deflected and circumvented, but only with the waking up of the Republican Party. The Republican Party must therefore with every sense of responsibility to the party and fully aware of the many far-reaching consequences of this election, immediately unite behind their presidential candidate and help chaperon him to victory. Unity is the key and the time to unite has since come, no more shenanigans, no more hate and no more divineness. 

The Democrats are already united behind their so flawed and irreparably damaged candidate, albeit some very reluctantly. Whatever their issues and disagreements, no one democrats is ever seen criticizing or castigating their candidate nor casting doubts or actively sabotaging the campaign of their candidate, Hillary Clinton. The Republican Party on the other hand, is showing a lack of balls, afraid that someone somewhere might call them out for supporting someone they are trying desperately to pigeonhole and paint as a cuckoo.  Icheoku says no matter how bad a whacko-painted Trump is, a republican Trump must be preferred as far a better option and being more republican than a liberal democrat Hillary Clinton. Such a Trump would also pursue more conservative policies than a liberal Hillary would ever care to tolerate and deserves a full house support. 

So where then lies the wisdom of those anti-Trump saboteurs of this election in the Republican Party? What is their objective - to help elect Hillary Clinton and lose out whatever credit they may have with the Republican base voters. Icheoku says the best way forward is for these people to change their ways, sheath their swords and together help the party's candidate win this election. No matter how bad his rookie mistakes are, a Donald Trump's presidency will always be a better fit for the Republican Party than the Hillary Clinton's scorch earth partisanship.  Later these disaffected could always help him be the best president America ever had. Nothing else will suffice nor ever justify nor support this anti-party activities of sabotaging their party's presidential nominee's effort to win the presidency. The worst thing that will ever happen is for Trump to lose this election because these people refused to help him win; and the American people will forever hold them responsible for being the reason for the loss. 

Icheoku says no man is infallible and for a beginner politician who never held any elected office before nor ever ran for one, Donald Trump is expected to make some mistakes about political speaking, which being not filtered, comes across to naysayers as horrible. Donald Trump has not committed a crime challenging the statuesquo, nor has he ever been convicted of any other crime for that matter. So what if he called people names or used some not so flattering words to describe some other people. Words never a person killed; actions do, leading to the question why all these piling up on Donald Trump? Icheoku says but for all these mosquito bites distractions, Hillary Clinton would be running on empty and so far behind Donald Trump. But fortunately for her, her paid hacks are busily hanging on one manufactured misspeak of imaginary crisis after another to maintain the semblance of traction.
  
Icheoku says the worst nightmare on Elm Street facing Hillary Clinton is a united, fully throttled Republican Party, out to help their party's nominee win this election. Hillary Clinton is incapable of running an issue based campaign as she has nothing to run on. She cannot also defend her hopeless records of the past 40 plus odd years of being in politics nor can she run on any policy that is different from the last eight years of President Barack Hussein Obama's knee jerk  elliptical balancing and playing with words, all talk and no action governance. Hillary Clinton has lost the narrative of making America great and better, hence her desperation to change the subject and attack the character of the other guy and paint him in light so unfavorable and scary.

Like their usual time tested playbook, when you have nothing to run on or meaningful to say, attack the other guy. If you cannot beat the message with a superior message, attack the messenger. Just throw as much mud as possible at the other guy and dirty him up so much to make him equally an unacceptable option. The Clinton Campaign is busy disparaging Donald Trump for what he said or did not say politically well; not that his philosophy and policies will not make America great again as promised or proposed. Icheoku says why not the Clintons rebut Donald Trump's laid out plans of getting America out of its presently dug hole; but instead, they are changing the subject trying to parry the issues away by pointing at what was said and making up others as they go.

Icheoku says the Republican Party must not fall to this baiting by the Clinton's machine and instead, must unite and reclaim their mandate which American people are ready and willing to hand over to them in this election. Cutting the nose to spite the face is not an option in this election as the consequences will be too very far-reaching and somewhat unsalvageable following a Hillary Clinton's presidency of vengeful conduct. The faith of the Republican Party and the need to keep it still competitive must override any other personal animosity or feeling of being slighted by either the nominee or the primary process that threw him up. Donald Trump will implement Republican Party agenda more than a thousand Hillary Clintons would ever concede. Therefore, the fate of Republicans and the Republican Party will be better served under and with a President Donald John Trump.

Icheoku says Donald Trump is not the problem, Hillary Clinton is. Donald Trump is not the Darth Vader he is being painted as, rather Hillary Clinton is the incurable lying disruptor in chief out to permanently silence the Republican Party. Donald Trump is not and should not be the enemy, Hillary Clinton is the one trying to permanently put the Republican Party to sleep and for good. Donald Trump is not and should not be the reason to stay aloof and do nothing, the need to stop Hillary Clinton should provide the fire in the belly to fight to win. Love of and for the Republican Party ideals should trump any other petty-minded reason for staying out or indeed sabotaging the within reach victory. Icheoku therefore urges every disaffected Republican to indeed see the big picture instead of being held back by their hatred for the party's nominee.

The fate of the Republican Party in a Hillary Clinton's presidency and subsequently thereafter should be the overall controlling authority and motivating factor for every Republican to man up and facedown the Clinton's machine politics which is desperately trying to snatch victory from the mouth of Donald Trump. They are piling up on Donald Trump because he is speaking the truth and they know he has touched a core of the American people who are swinging to him and they want to stop it by all means necessary. They are ganging up to silence him through intimidation and in order to maintain the statusquo and not rock their Washington boat nor displace their power structure. Amidst the mounting problems facing America, the Clintons instead of preferring solutions to them, are rather busy talking about touchy-feely what Trump said and how he said it? 

Icheoku says words never a person killed; so how is what Trump said or did not say going to affect his proposed solutions to America's mounting problems? How is what Trump said wrong going to impact an economy that is sputtering or an ISIS that needs to be decisively smacked down or an increased watertight security for the homeland? But regardless, come this November, American people will also red-card Hillary Clinton and that way similarly retire another American politically over-exposed family like they did with the Bush family and tell them enough of the Clintons too. Icheoku adds that it would be a preferred option for everyone to be part of the effort so that they could all celebrate together when the battle is finally won come November 8, 2016. Go Trump; Vote Trump and help America moving forward again. Enough of the new normal mediocrity.

CROOKED HILLARY, INDEED VERY CROOKED.

UNFIT TO BE PRESIDENT, HOW FIT WAS OBAMA IN 2008?

Icheoku says Jesus was damn right when he said he who lives in a glass house should not throw stones. Yes, as he stooped down and was scribbling on the ground, her accusers simply melted away and Jesus asked her to go and sin no more. Suddenly a Barack Obama who was nearly hounded out of contesting the United States of America presidency is now the one mouthing off as to who is qualified or not qualified to be president of America? Query, who made Barack Obama a judge, arbiter and decider in chief of who is fit to be American president? 

Icheoku says if Barack Obama, a Kenyan-American, born to a black African father and a Kansas white mother, whose born on America was initially doubtful and questionable, was fit for the presidency of America, how about a fully born in America Donald Trump, whose ancestry spells an all American boy?

The good news however is that no one is listening to what President Barack Obama has to say, especially regarding this election. He had eight long years to convincingly tell American people that he is good president for America and gets the back of Americans, but he woefully failed to deliver on this. A president of who is empathetic to Muslims and Islamism and who has repeatedly failed to forcefully condemn Islamist Muslim extremists terrorists; but instead continuously makes excuses for their wanton terrorist massacres. A president who hardly fiercely defend American values and cultures as well as their Judaeo/Christian religion. As far as Icheoku is concerned, President Barack Obama might as well pass for Islam and Muslim ambassador to America, a Muslim apologist, for crying out loud. 

The American people have begun their countdown to November 8, 2016 when they will pass a vote of no confidence on a very mean-spirited, divisive and probably the last minority president America will ever have due to his below par performance. 

A president who disappointed so many people who initially bought into his fabled hope an change, but who were left out in the cold holding the plate. A president who promised to unite Americans but succeeded in creating the widest chasm among race relations in recent American history. A president whose presidency saw so many African Americans killed more than any other time in recent history. A president whose presidency witnessed or rather supervised the decline of wealth among African Americans, with so many of them losing their homes, jobs and/or even their spouses due to economic hardship. An African American president who did not do much for African motherland and other black countries of this world including Haiti? A black American president whose presidency rewarded Cuba with normalizing relationship but could not do anything for Jamaica and other black countries of the Caribbean with immigrations policies as enjoyed by Cubans. 

Under his watch, black Caribbean people who touch land in Florida are still forcibly sent back to their home countries, unlike the Cubans have been enjoying touch land policy for a long time. A black president who could not rush military assistance to a black country Nigeria under pressure of Islamist Boko Haram terrorism. A president who stood by and watched as thousands of Nigerians were massacred by Boko Haram while refusing to sell Nigeria weapons and pressuring other countries from doing so. A president who busily engaged other continents, establishing favorable trading partnerships with them, but mostly ignored the African continent that sired him. A black president who in eight years has refused and has not visited the most populous black country, which holds more than 50% of the entire black population in the world. Icheoku says black people had no inheritance in this first black president of America and to their tents they have gone; they might as well have done without having one to begin with. 

Icheoku says who gave President Obama right to override the American constitution which provides for qualification for the office of the president and to now to choose to dictate who is qualified or fit for the office? A clearly spelt out qualification for president provision in Article 11, Section 1, Clause 5 of the United States Constitution, which does not in any way negatively impact Donald Trump. A provision which states three conditions that must be met by such an aspiring candidate namely that the candidate must be a naturally born citizen of the United States of America; must be at leas thirty five years old and must have resided in the United States for the past fourteen years prior to his run for office. Icheoku says Donald Trump was born in the United States; Donald Trump is more than 35 years old and Donald Trump has lived in the United States for more than fourteen years. This makes  Donald Trump eminently qualified for office. 

Further, Donald Trump has never rebelled against the United States constitution either, hence Section 3 of the Fourteenth Amendment was never triggered. Donald Trump was never elected president nor twice, hence the Twentieth Amendment would not exclude him as unfit or ineligible to run for office again. The Senate did not impeach nor disqualify Donald Trump under Article 1, Section 3, Clause 7 of the constitution either. So query, what else was on the president's mind when he uttered those very offensive words that Donald Trump is unfit to be president? Icheoku says possibly the president is on a vengeance mission to take his pound of flesh from a man who had previously questioned his American citizenship - whether born in the USA birther controversy? President Obama wants to sideline the constitution in preference for his own opinion? 

A president who struggled to earn his validity is now telling American people that a bona fides American and successful businessman is unfit for the office of the presidency? This is a president who himself was given a benefit of the doubt and was elected president twice despite his initial birther doubts. Needless to add that President Obama's resume does not include a degree in psychiatry nor did he in any other way conduct a mental evaluation of Donald Trump's fitness for office to determine he is not fit. What a cry baby the president is, who is rather afraid that he might be sent to prison due to actions taken during his presidency under President Trump and is now trying to preempt it by stopping the man who will hold him to account. But come November 8, American people will have the final say, the last voice and they will overwhelmingly voice to elect Donald Trump, regardless of whatever Obama had to say regarding his fitness for office.

Love is patient, love is kind. But where there are prophecies,they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.

ADEBOYE WAS WRONG, ADVICE VERY ARCHAIC AND CHAUVINISTIC.

Icheoku did a speed-read of the Bible, scanned through multiple religious documents to see if there is any biblical authority for the recent injunction by Redeemed Christian Church of God's Enoch Adeboye that every man should marry only a wife who is a good cook. This was in case the specific relevant verse empowering this decree was inadvertently missed during a previous academic transverse from Genesis to Revelation. But to our relief, the bible remains the same today as it was yesterday and will not change tomorrow. 

So without a heavenly support for his recent admonition, upon what authority did he make his latest pronouncement that men should marry only good cooks? In his own words, Pastor Enoch Adeboye said "Don't marry a woman who can't cook, a girl who cannot cook will not be a good wife." Icheoku says if fallacy ever has a definition, this certainly is it. Since when has good cooking become a paradigm and yardstick for determining a good wife; as to make it a prerequisite qualification and precondition to marrying somebody? Icheoku says nothing can be further from the truth than this very primitive perspective on what a good wife is. What a subjugation of the female gendered specie, now summarily consigned to the kitchen by a man still stuck in the past. 

Peradventure, Enoch Adeboye with this type of mindset, should not be leading any people in this modern day and age, not at all. Icheoku says to condemn potential spouses and women in general to such a single issue qualification is to say the least very pedestrian. How about other qualities including among overachieving women who have excelled in several other departments but were short in the kitchen department? Why do people go to culinary schools to train to be chefs and cooks except to provide for sometimes certain lack. 

Anyway, back to the Bible and its provisions on marriage and their irreconcilability with Adeboye's instruction, starting with the first known marriage ever recorded in the bible, the Adam and Eve story at Garden of Eden. 

In Genesis 2:18 God said while getting Adam a wife, "It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.” From the provision, it is obvious that God created Eve to primarily provide companionship for Adam, not necessarily to be a good cook for him. In another very significant marital discourse in the bible, when Abraham sought a wife for his son Isaac, he instructed his servants in Genesis 24:4 to "go to my homeland, to my relative and there find a wife for my son Isaac." From this verse, it is instructive that the controlling authority to finding a wife is stork, his breed, his kind. Abraham did not make being a good cook a precondition to finding a wife for Isaac; instead he wanted a wife from an acceptable blood lineage, possibly the good gene pool wife - from one of his own people. 

When in the same Genesis 24:14, the servants of Abraham reached the land to pick a wife for Isaac, their test for a good wife was humility and kindness - 'a woman who will give them water to drink and also water their camel too.'  A woman who has the spirit of caring and giving, love and affection, but once again not one who is a good cook. Then we scramble to the Gospel of John 2:1-11, at the wedding feast in Cana, only to see that Jesus did not offer any opinion about finding a wife. He merely, at the instigation of his mother Mary, blessed the wedding couple with choice wine - a gift of some sort. Jesus could but choose not to butt in other people's private matter with regards to marriage or who they marry including the reason for marrying them. Jesus simply did not meddle into a couples purely personal affair. 

Yet this Adeboye professes Jesus Christ, but would not do as Jesus Christ did? Jesus had every opportunity to wade into marriage but chose not to and even in the affairs of the stomach, admonished in Matthew 4:4 that "man does not live on bread alone" when tempted by the Satan to turn stones into bread. So why does food occupy such a very high pedestal in the eyes of Pastor Enoch Adeboye, one would ask? Why of all the reasons and factors a man decides to marry a woman, it is food that constitutes highest priority for Enoch Adeboye? If he likes food so much, does that give him the impetus to use his one cap fits all measure to now condemn every woman to the kitchen, thinking that every man cares so much about food?

Icheoku says of all the more important things Adeboye should be counseling young intending suitors on, including finding a wife who is peaceful and not quarrelsome and troublesome, he is more interested in stomach infrastructure? A man really interested in making men happy should have referenced Proverbs 21:19 wherein it was said that "it is better to dwell in the wilderness than with a contentious and an angry woman." So why is Pastor Adeboye not preaching against marrying an angry woman whether or not she is the best good cook ever to walk this earth or is he saying by necessarily implication that her good cooking should override her anger problem? 

Why didn't Pastor Adeboye advise men to take their request on finding a wife to God in prayers as Philippians 4:6 teaches 'not to be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayers and petition and thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. 2 Corinthians 6:14 goes further to  admonish 'not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers; yet Pastor Adeboye is just talking about food?  Icheoku says how about a woman who does not know how to cook but fears the Lord as Proverbs 31:30 instructs that 'favor is deceitful and beauty is vain but such a woman should be praised? How about a virtuous woman as Proverbs 31:10 spoke of or is Pastor Adeboye preaching that a hotelier or a restaurateur and a drunkard should be preferred over such a noble woman in choosing a wife?  

Icheoku says if Pastor Adeboye was right, Proverb 18:22 which states that 'he who finds a good wife obtained favor from the Lord' would have read 'he who finds a wife who is a good cook' instead? So query, upon which authority does Adeboye actually preach or give this his injunction, because certainly it is not in the bible. Proverbs 19:14 speaks of 'a prudent wife coming from God' but never a good cook wife. What is wrong in a good wife later going to culinary school to brush up on her cooking 101 of she must; except that according to Adeboye no one should have married her in the first place because she is not primarily a good cook. Colossians 3:18 and Ephesians 5:22 speak of wives submit to their husband and you wonder if according to Pastor Adeboye, being a good cook now overrides this biblical  instruction for obedience? Icheoku says how about a wife being obedient as Sara obeyed Abraham calling him Lord in 1 Peter 3:6?

Icheoku hopes that Pastor Adeboye has not put wedges into many impending marriages nor has he inadvertently messed up some prospective marriage proposals by what he said, because Mark 10:9 says 'not to put asunder what God has joined together;' or better still planning to put together. There are so many more cogent and salient reasons why a man and woman come together to be joined as husband and wife; and it includes companionship, comfort, children and so many other much lovelier things, but definitely not that the woman is a good cook or would be a good cook; neither for the man to spend his time eating well cooked food. 

Cooking well or not cooking well is relative; and it is a solvable problem which hiring a cook or chef could so easily take care of if it gets to that. Also cooking is not genitalia dependent as men can also cook and cook very well too.  Most times an illustrious loving wife, who feels that her cooking is below par, will not hesitate to take some cooking lessons from her mother, sisters, friends and other relatives to brush up her cooking. But for Adeboye to so lackadaisically condemn the women folk, especially those of them he adjudged not to be good cooks, to a life without  husbands for not being wifey materialist because they cannot cook well despite other beautiful qualities they have, is condemnable and should be condemned. 

A man of God should not be preaching divisiveness but should be building up relationships; and where certain noticed deficiencies exist, find solutions to fix them; but never to so cavalierly wave off a so many women as not good to be married simply because they do not cook well. The fact that some of these women may not have been exposed to cooking in their growing up days did not even touch the heart and tongue of Adeboye; neither did he qualify his decree with a proviso that such a woman willing to learn to cook well should be given a much deserved break. But his was a total blanket condemnation. Icheoku says it is not right and the man of "God" did not seek God's face before uttering his nonsensical. May God forgive Adeboye for such mass destruction of women, whose chances of being married he jeopardized with what he said.
