Icheoku says the President of Nigeria as the father of the country should care equally for every Nigerian irrespective of where such Nigerians call home or chose to reside. Also politics usually ends with elections and President Jonathan should see himself as president of Nigeria, responsible for every Nigerian welfare and wellbeing and not just those Nigerians that live and reside in PDP controlled states or his native South-south states.
Prior to his election, the president was sucking up to every dick, tom and harry in Nigeria including Lagos State but now chose not to visit Lagos following the flood? It is equally on records that the president visited Ogun State to see the devastation of similar flood then before his election. Further Lagos State voted for President Jonathan admitted that Bola Tinubu took it back in subsequent elections and Lagos is ACN controlled and not PDP as wished by President Jonathan and other PDP honchos including the jail-bird Olubode George. Icheoku says it is therefore wrong for the president not to visit Nigerians residing in Lagos to commiserate with them over their loss of lives and properties during the July 10, 2011 flood. Icheoku does not want to believe that the honey-moon is over just because the election is over and hereby call on President Jonathan to rise up above petty partisan politics and do the right thing - visit those Nigerians living in Lagos whose lives were upturned by the torrential downpour of July 10th. All of them did not vote for ACN and therefore they should not be collectively punished for Lagos not going over to PDP as desired by the president during the last election. It is called being a statesman.
