Imagine how belittling it is really indeed that an American president would be banned on an American social media platform which is operating in America and by an American owner and without dire consequences. What foolish freedom gives Twitter the right to so reduce the office of the president in such a manner that is demeaning. How can any world leader be expected to respect an American president going forward when such a president does not have power over Americans and American companies, including Twitter; and cannot punish them for going out of line. Haven't Twitter gone too far an dhow much of this should be tolerated. There should be a law shielding an American president from such humiliation.
It is the American people that were humiliated when their president is prohibited from communicating to them through an American company operating in America. If Twitter cannot respect the office of the president, what use is their operating license anyway and why should they be allowed to continue making use of the Internet access granted to them. Why should Twitter be allowed to continue to operate within American terrestrial and territorial space when they could insult an American president in this manner. Something needs to be done, at least if not for President Donald John Trump, but for future presidents in order to protect the office from such a ridiculous humiliation.
What is not fair is not fair regardless of whose ox is gored. It is President Donald John Trump today but who knows which president the bell might toll for tomorrow and years to come. If Twitter is allowed to get away with what they did, who knows what any future president might be forced to suffer from any other fringed company executive who disagrees with the president's political and ideological philosophy. A matter made worse because the over 80 million followers of the president on Twitter has been rendered incommunicado with their president and nobody knows or gets information about the president's condition and his activities.
It is a sad day in America and a sign of ominous times ahead when such a drastic challenge to the office of the president is tolerated. Twitter should lift the ban immediately and give back the president access to his Twitter handle. It is sad when Americans, especially the hard left, will stand by and watch with glee an elected president of America being humiliated in this manner by an American company doing business in America. #RestoreThePresidentTwitterHandle.
