BACK AND FORTH EXECUTIVE ORDERS BASED POLICY DIRECTIVE NOT GOOD FOR AMERICA.

ICHEOKU says America is gradually turning into a third world country where contracts are not respected and could be so easily canceled on the whim of a new president who wants to rubbish his predecessor's achievements. What happened to government being a continuity and why would a new administration be referred to as an incoming administration when they could so easily severe every umbilical cord tethering it to the government which they succeeded. How can any foreign country or business concern sincerely enter into contract with America when there are no guarantees that it will be respected by a successor administration. How could businesses invest handsomely in America when their business could be laid to waste by a new administration?

Where does such a new government on a revenge mission expect countries of the world entering into agreements with America and businesses making investments in America to find the confidence that their projects will survive and contracts entered into honored. That what they have toiled for in the preceding four years will not be so cavalierly ruined by a new president who just took office. Why must American policy directive be based on who is in the White House instead of what is in the best for America. What then is the relevance of Congress if they cannot legislate and immunize some of these policies from the adversarial interference of successor president who hates his predecessor so much that he is willing to erase all his policy accomplishments with just a stroke of the pen fashioned as executive orders.

The reason such orders are prevalent in America is because Congress have technically abdicated its duty to make laws for the country and have somewhat become so partisan that almost nothing is accomplished during their seatings. How could a successor government cancel huge employment projects such as the Keystone XL pipeline and Southern border wall just because of partisan politics while disregarding the acute unemployment situation in the country. A country is bleeding over 15 million jobs and a new government that should be primarily concerned and occupied with how to reduce the unemployment numbers is rather busy killing already existing jobs and adding to the unemployment nightmare. What rational reason justifies increasing the unemployment numbers and adding to the destitution; yet some people do not see anything awful in it just because it plays well to their partisan political interest, the satisfaction of some of their base.

Any country that will always change its policy every four years depending on who is in the White House does not make for a stable policy direction and it must be very discomforting to its foreign partners as well as the business community. How about the investments Canada made in the Keystone XL pipeline project? How about the extensive work already done in completed hundreds of miles of pipeline laid so far? How about the payments already made to purchase private real properties where some of the pipe line will pass through? How about businesses that made huge investments in pipes manufacturing, cement, trucks, steal and other associated materials necessary for executing the pipeline project. How about contracts that are already signed with hefty penalties in case of a breach. All these sectors employed hundreds if not thousands of workers and with just a stroke of pen, everything is now washed away. Really?

Is this how a country that prides itself as a bastion of civilized behavior supposed to act? Ruthless and heartless and without any modicum of concern about thousands of livelihoods disrupted as a result of the senseless executive order. How about the Southern border wall that runs several hundreds of miles? Investments made in machinery, steel bars, concrete, cement and other logistics involved in prosecuting the project. How about the thousands of workers engaged in the construction of the border wall who are now rendered jobless just because of political difference between the preceding government and the succeeding government. Those workers cross party lines but the new government just did what they did to spite the government which it succeeded without caring a hoot about the damaging effect of their action on American families.

Is this how a country competing against China and fighting for their economic life behaves. Is this how America plans to maintain their economic dominance over China, when such disruptions to economic engagements and outputs which are so easily carried out with a stroke of the pen sets it back. When China is busy building, America is busy tearing down but still wants the world to believe that somehow they are the number economy in the world and you ask yourself, if this is true, for how much longer going forward will America maintain the position?

Is anybody still in doubt why China is eating America's lunch? It is such disruptions to American economic interests by successive governments, made just to satisfy its political base which they frequently pander to primarily without prioritizing America's overall best interest, that causes the bleeding. Two huge projects just went bust just like that because it is what the far left liberal anarchists want. Anybody who is not miffed at the two senseless executive orders of the new administration does not have America's interest at heart. At least, the government should have allowed the contracts already awarded to be completed and that way buy some time for its job creation effort and also not waste resources needlessly by rendering already procured materials redundant. This two projects should have been above and beyond partisan party politics, period.

How can canceling and redirecting policies every four years, depending on who is in the White House, help bring succor and peace of the mind to any country or business dealing with America? How can such u-turn shifting of policies give confidence to any country looking for a concrete and determined relationship ties with America? How does America want the rest of the world to feel about it's mercurial policy directives which fluctuates so often and which now somewhat portrays America as a not serious bankable country but as shifty as quicksilver. Must everything a preceding president did be canceled cache-blanc just because of political differences.

Nothing justifies the elimination of American jobs at a time when unemployment is biting hard, forcing more families to now join the long list of families already suffering from lack of job, hunger and shelterless. The Keystone XL pipeline and Southern border wall projects cancelation was a big mistake, ill advised and ill timed; they should have been avoided. ICHEOKU says if executive orders cannot be abolished completely, it should somehow be regulated so that issues such as jobs for American workers could become immune from them and are no longer sacrificed with the signing of a presidential signature. It simply does not make sense.
