When asked "whether he knew about the level of corruption in Nigeria before initially endorsing removal of fuel subsidy, which he later withdrew, Jeffrey Sachs said: “They didn’t have to tell me." Icheoku says corruption in Nigeria is of a general world-wide knowledge; what a big deficit to the country. Mr Sachs also said: “I’ve noticed how the politicians barely care about the universities. Sad and costly for Nigeria." To this Icheoku adds, most of those politicians are semi-illiterates who loathe education and begrudge educated people as they feel shortchanged by their own lack of education and/or proper education where applicable and do not understand the imperative of good sound education enough as to encourage one.
