Today is July 4th, another anniversary of our nation's birthday; secured by blood and treasure from the colonial Britain, 224 years ago. The once fledgling nation state has come a pretty long way, maturing into a first among nations and within its very short life, relative to other much older nations of the world. On the political arena, it has given an opportunity to a minority black-man to have the singular honor and privilege to serve as her 44th president. So on this anniversary, Icheoku gives a shout-out to our beloved trailblazing President Barack Hussein Obama; who despite the daunting challenges facing him, still soldiers on like any typical American, hopeful of a better future for us all. To the fighting men and women spread throughout the hot zones of the world, especially in Afghanistan and Iraq, Icheoku says American people appreciate all your sacrifice. To all those people holding the fort back home including military spouses, fire service, police, national guard, custom patrol, emergency responders, coast guards, immigration, homeland security etc, Americans are proud of your service. The doctors, iron workers, teachers, janitors, rough-necks and all such other hands that make America run smoothly, Icheoku appreciates you. So on this July 4th, 2010 as we celebrate our nations independence anniversary, let us in unison reaffirm our love for this great nation; and tell ourselves the simple truth that we are in it together, no shaking! Happy independence anniversary, America!
